Summary: Bought mine about four years ago for hunting and have been very pleased. They are a bit bulky and heavier than more streamlined roof prism design, but the trade off is super wide field of view, clarity and most importantly outstanding light transmission at dawn and dusk. Have had several buddies w/ MUCH more expensive glass remark that theirs can't compare to my $150 Nikons!
Pros: Great light transmision in low light. Super wid field of view.
Cons: A bit bulky for my hands- one handed focus (while holding rifle) is a bit tricky .
Summary: Just bought this for my husbands birthday-so I took them out of the box to make sure everything OK and had to try them out-WOW..easy easy easy to focus-great distance viewing and very comfortable! Glad I purchased! Also, very fast service with Opticsplanet-thank you for your quick response time.
Summary: I bought these binoculars for hunting and sightseeing. To say that I'm satisfied is to say nothing - I'm really happy. Wide field of wiev. Picture is clear and without aberrations. Colors are vivid. Even in dusk or on a break of dawn you can see things easily and clear. Body is sturdy. Grip is very comfortable. Adjustments easy and intuitive. User manual comprehensive.
Pros: Bright clear picture, excellent value for your money
Cons: Maybe a little bit heavy and bulky for hunting on feet
Summary: One of the best field 8x WP bino on the market for less than 130$. Though the range of dioptry tuning might not fit EACH&ANY viewers eyes, but for the most of viewers - will be the perfect choice. Also the ergonomics and the caps-not-able-to-loose are good features.
Pros: tough, with metal parts, wide range field, ergonomics
Cons: dioptry tuning feature might not fit some viewers eyes
Summary: In the past I thought the binoculars I had purchased were quite good for the price paid. I was wrong! One look through these Nikon Action Extremes and there was no comparison. Sure they cost more than my old ones, but not that much, especially from Optics Planet, $125US, here in Australia, $599A which is about four times more than I wanted to spend. So for me, a great bargain, even with the exchange rate.
Pros: Light weight, comfort, clarity, value for money
Cons: Lens caps a bit ordinary and tend to fall off
Summary: I was really surprised at the clarity of these binoculars. I have pair of high quality, high priced binoculars that are no better than these Nikons. I especially like the fact that you can mount these on a tripod for stability.
