Excellent Binoculars

bioteachk, Ebay

  • Summary: Excellent Glass. These are the best porro prism series out there. I have the 8X and 10X versions of the Nikon SE and love them both.

Nikon (8x32)SE

sarabsdad, Ebay
21 July 2010
  • Summary: Went into a Wild Birds Unlim. to evaluate some Swarovski 8.5X42 (NOT Swarovision EL) and I had a hard time noticing much difference. No way di I see $1,500 worth of difference. Am going to look at the new 8.5X42 EL Swarovision and see if I can duplicate the "Wow" factor I have read about. Almost 10 years later and with excellant care, I would have a hard time giving these up.

Still the state of the optical art

macfarla, Ebay
6 January 2010
  • Summary: These binoculars don't have click adjustable eyecups, waterproofing or ED glass. They're still better than the most expensive 8x32 roof prism binoculars money can buy and hold their own against the most expensive 8x42s. Superb brightness, contrast and resolving power and a vivid, you-are-there experience.

First rate mid-sized binocular.

userleif, epinions.com
29 April 2003
  • Summary: I recommend this binocular on the basis of quality optics and superb build. Some people - me included - will prefer the handling of a roof prim binocular.
  • Pros: Superb optics and build quality. Competitive price.
  • Cons: Not water/fog proof. An odd shape to hold.

8X32 Se Cf

Reviewer, CompareStorePrices
1 June 2011
  • Excerpt: A superb lightweight porro prism binocular that will out perform most roof prism binoculars with a similar specification and a much higher asking price. They weigh 600g/20 ounces, and can be carried in the field all day with no neck strain. The body is covered in a black synthetic rubber material that offers non-slip grip. The prism housing is chamfered at the ocular end to give good handling and put the focussing wheel within easy reach.
