Summary: I was looking for a good birding Binocular and really wanted a Steiner Predator set, but settled on these for the better price. I did reviews from several sites for the best birding binoculars and the Nikon Monarch rated in the top ten on most sites. This one weighed about the same weight as the ones I was considering and I was worried about the brightness of these but they are bright and made very well.
Summary: Best Binoculars I ever look through for the money. I really like them because they cost a lot less then the high price Binoculars and my eyes don't get tired looking through them like they do with the cheaper Binoculars. I can't say enough good things about these Binoculars. One of the best sporting goods items that I have ever bought.
Summary: always wanted a good pair of binoculars and i am very happy with these nikon binoculars. the color is vivid even in low light conditions and quick to get dialed in for any use. i will be passing along my old pair to someone.
Excerpt: I have never tried a thousand dollar pair of binoculars, but I don't see how you can get any better than these. If you are looking in the 8-12x magnification range, look no further. The 42mm objective lens seems to be the perfect choice, the close focus is superb. Most likely because of the ingenious coating method and primo glass, you get the perfect amount of light coming through at all times of day, the color and contrast is brilliant.
Pros: Brightness, Close Focus, Lens coating, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Waterproof, Works Well With Glasses
Excerpt: These binoculars provide great magnification, excellent resolution, and superb clarity. From observing Big Horn Sheep in the Rocky Mountains to identifying birds in the back yard, these have performed perfectly and are a pleasure to use. Focus is fast and smooth. Construction is very light, yet extremely strong and durable. The only improvement might be image stabilization, but that would certainly impact the price.
Pros: Close Focus, Compact, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction
