Good but could have been better

Ricardo the birder, Adorama
7 December 2007
  • Excerpt: I use this product in my job to conduct bird surveys and general habitat assessments. These binoculars are clear and make identifying birds very easy. The focus wheel however could have been made to focus more quickly i.e. less rotation. My major problem with this product is the weak construction. I bought 3 of these in all and 2 have cracked eyepieces. As a result they are no longer tighly screwed on.
  • Pros: Close Focus, Not too heavy, Quality Lenses, Works Well With Glasses
  • Cons: Poor Construction

Nikon Monarch ATB Realtree 10x42

Unknown Hunter, Hunting & Fishing Gear
12 July 2006
  • Conclusion: Good Product. Not cheap, but not going to drain the bank account either. Lightweight and not noticeable when you are wearing them. Make sure to keep the warranty card and the recipt should you need to send them in for repairs. Go to Nikonusa.com/service to get instructions on how to have them sent in for repairs.
  • Pros: These binoculars are light, compact. They are crisp and clear and have the adjustable eyecups for those of you wearing glasses. The price was right, they were not cheap, but they aren't $1800 either. Last year I sat and glassed a hillsided for Elk and Mule Deer and found more than my buddy who had the more expensive, holy grail of binoculars the Swavorski EL 10x42. Not saying that is the binoculars fault, just time in the field and knowing what to look for, but as far...
  • Cons: Couple of things I have had problems with. I may be a little rough on my equiptment, but it gets used a lot. I have had issues with the twist out eyecups. If they get dirty, or knocked around a little bit, they stuck either up or down, and had a slight angle to them. Of course me being Irish, I used brute forc and stupidity, and twisted them right off. Yeah!! Sent them back to Nikon, and they fixed them free of charge. However, trying to navigate through the website o...

Light and bright

M. Banks, Amazon
13 October 2013
  • Summary: These binoculars are light to wear and give a good bright image. The eye cups screw out to allow adjustment for spectacle wearers and there is diopter correction. Focus is quick and easy to use. Image is pretty good with very slight colour fringing. For the money pretty good.

Gutes Fernglas

Bonny, Amazon
2 February 2014
  • Summary: Preis/Leistung sehr gut, qualitativ sehr gutes Fernglas mit sehr guter optischer Leistung.

Thomas Baier, Amazon
3 June 2013
  • Summary: Ich nutze das 10x42 ausschließlich jagdlich.
