  • Excerpt: Well made, good low light performance due to large exit pupil. Compass readable and stable. Great for navigation and taking bearings. Solid construction.

Excellent monocular for buoy races

  • Excerpt: I took a leap of faith based exclusively on Minox brand reputation to buy the 7x42 MDC monocular given that I couldn't find significant hands on reviews. I certainly do not regret the decision. First I ordered a cheaper monocular with similar specifications (Celestron Oceana 8x42) from another store, but came with an air bubble in the compass and questionable workmanship overall. With the price and quality of a toy, it went back the same day.
  • Pros: Depth Of Field, Easy To Use, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction

7x42 MD C Minox marine rangefinder

  • Excerpt: This is a marine monocular with a reticle scale intended to calculate the distance to ships at sea, and the height of ships at sea. And it requires some math calculations. The brightness, color rendition, resolution, and clarity are superb. It's perfect for range finding the distance to offshore oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico or Emirates.
  • Pros: Accurate Ranging, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Difficult To Use
