POCKET POWERHOUSE INSPECTION TOOL

Vinnie, B&H Photo
10 April 2013
  • Excerpt: This is an excellent every day carry tool. Collectors should carry this for inspection of items as the 8x and close focus are very helpful at spotting defects/fake items. clear sharp views outside and very compact when you don't/cant carry binoculars. I carry it always now. My only concern is the case/pouch it really needs to be slightly larger to protect the scope.
  • Pros: Bright Eyepiece, Sensitivity Controls, Strong Magnification

Great handheld portable Monocular

Adorama
28 March 2013
  • Excerpt: First thing about this Monocular is it is not a TOY!! That is why it costs what it does. This is a great close inspection tool also and would be at home in any inspectors and for that matter Investigators pocket.while not cheap it would appreciated by anyone that likes quality optics especially as a lifetime gift for a young student.excellent compact scope when you don't want to or can't carry BinosMy only concern is the case as it does need to be larger to fit the scope...
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction

  • Excerpt: I purchased this wonderful device a few weeks ago and I have to say that I am impressed! Excellent optics, pocketable, lightweight but good heft in the hand, weatherproof, easy to use, and the macro capability is excellent. Highly recommended. 'Nuff said.

Minox minoscope

Doris C., Eagle Optics
25 October 2012
  • Summary: I like the monocular very much even though it's difficult after years of using binoculars to change old habits! Very clear viewing, light-weight, easy to carry in ones pocket. A lens cap would have been a nice addition. The only negative is the case that comes with the item. It is just barely large enough to hold the minoscope. If the makers would broaden and lengthen the case, it would be much more satisfactory.

Minox Macroscope 8x25

Style is for sheep., Adorama
30 December 2011
  • Excerpt: The Minox microscope is the leatherman of quality optics. It is relatively compact and light, very well made and gives a clear, bright, magnified look at things near and far. Especially wonderful if you can't see up close anymore. It is 5 stars in all ways except for the cheap bag which is too small for complete protection and/or lack of lens caps. Minox hit the ball out of the park and then neglected to walk the bases.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction
  • Cons: See comments

a handful of excellent craftsmanship!

Star Navigator, Adorama
14 November 2011
  • Excerpt: I commute hundreds of miles weekly through wildlife areas and along migratory flyways. The Minox Macroscope is easily carried around my neck and I can pull over & stop the car and quickly spot & watch birds & animals. Using the macro capability for close study of bugs is neat! This is a very affordable gadget compared to Zeiss or Leica monoculars. BTW, this is less carry weight than binoculars!
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, True Closeups
  • Cons: Minimal carry case
