Excerpt: Watching the TV special on Bird Watching in Central Park, I decided to get in the swing of things. I have a few el cheap binocs that just don't cut the mustard. The Minox got a very good review and can be hard to find locally. They are worth every penny in my opinion. Anything that make things look more interesting, to me, has great value. They are very sharp, bright, and have very good magnification. I wish I have bought them a long time ago.
Pros: Close Focus, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Waterproof, Works Well With Glasses
Excerpt: I have been looking for a compact, lightweight pair of binoculars to use at indoor concerts as well as bird-watching in my own yard. After trying several pair, these were recommended by somebody at B & H and they seem to be everything I've wanted. The image is sharp, clear and bright and the amount of magnification will work very well for my purposes.
Pros: Compact, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Works Well With Glasses
Summary: Needed a cheaper alternative to the Zeiss, Leica, Swarovski, makes of bird watching binoculars. I can't justify the cost. Travelling to South Africa then California to visit different locations, so needed a reliable decent pair of binoculars that would be robust and practical yet if I should see an animal, insect or bird then they would fulfil the criteria of clarity, field of view, close range abilities and ease of use.
Summary: Heavy bins but I like the quality of these - nice aluminium body and great quality lenses. I was going to buy a pair with a plastic polycarb body but I'm glad now I paid that bit extra for quality.
Summary: What a fantastic buy. These must be the best quality, value for money high performance bins on the market. Sure there are better but at what cost. Everything about these oozes great German engineering and attention to detail. Made in China yes, as are all budget bins but Minox keep very strict quality control over their products and it definately shows. Before buying any binoculars do what I did and research it well. Check out the specs on these.
