Excerpt: My wife tole me that she wanted a well-built binocular for her birthday and she uses it for bird watching. The first option came to my mind was something made by the Germans, who are known for the optics. I looked at some Leica made products and realized that I may have to break the bank to do this. So, a Minox seemed to be a nice alternative. It's more affordable and still has the quality I was looking for.
Solid, bright and comfortable and relatively cheap.

Summary: Excellent product! I upgraded to these from Bushnell H2O binos and am amazed at the difference in clarity. The focus wheel is silky smooth and it is comfortable to use. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of second compartment in the bino case in which you could put the lens cloth.
Excerpt: I have Macular Degeneration (vision loss), and play poker professionally. If I am sitting at either end of a poker table, I can't see the cards well. I got these Minox for their close focus capability. They are fantastic! They are a little heavy for their size, but that's because of the high quality lenses and ruggedness. Highly recommended.
Pros: Close Focus, Compact, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Works Well With Glasses
Summary: Needing a pair of bins with bigger objective lens for watching birds till dusk on local reserve, I bought these. I have a pair of Pentax 10x21 UCF pocket bins £59 and pair of Pentax Papilio close focus 8.5x21 bins £120 and while they don't let as much light in as the Minox... the Pentax bins are as sharp and equal in contrast and colour plus they are easier on the eye to focus. For me the Minox are disappointing.
Summary: Truly beautifully engineered binos. Tremendous light transmission, no fringing, superb image quality and wide angle of view for a 10 x42. If I wanted to be picky I would say a tad heavy, but that is a function of the quality, and the focus wheel could use another half turn lock-to-lock to improve sensitivity but these are truly minor quibbles. These glasses were reviewed very favourably against £1600 competitors when they were £220, at £170 or so they are great value.
