Excerpt: I've got a pair of full size Nikon Monarchs, 10x42, but my equipment bag was starting to get unreasonably heavy. I was looking for something light and compact with good optical quality. I figured that these would fit the bill perfectly and I'm pretty happy so far. The optical quality is great and they're even smaller than they looked in the pictures.
Pros: Close Focus, Compact, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Waterproof
Excerpt: This is our 2nd pair of Leica binoculars. We love their quality and precision viewing. We appreciate the small size of these, as we take them with us on travels, for birding as well as general distance viewing
Pros: Close Focus, Compact, Lightweight, Quality Lenses
Excerpt: Great optics and well built, so 5 stars for that. But case is extremely tight and it is difficult to remove the binoculars, so it takes a lot of time and effort to do so. That may be a minor issue for someone who doesn't keep them in a case. The other problem is that Leica does not provide lens covers for the objective lenses. None can even be purchased as an accessory. So there is no way to protect the objective lenses.
Excerpt: The optics are wonderful, as one would expect. Very small and compact and easy to put into a coat pocket. Actually will fit into a man's shirt pocket. Two issues/problems though, which Leica should deal with. Firstly, the case is super tight for the binoculars. It takes a lot of work to pull them out of the case. Also, they do not come with objective lens covers.
Excerpt: I use the binoculars when kayaking, hiking in the woods, fly-fishing, lacrosse games and at night for viewing the planets and the moon. It is absolutely fantastic! I love the Ultravid 8x20 Leica!
Pros: Close Focus, Compact, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Waterproof, Works Well With Glasses
Excerpt: I've had these for about 7 years now and I still love them. Small and compact, lightweight, solid construction, and fantastic optics. They were above my original budget when I was researching binoculars, but I'm so glad I went ahead and put up the extra $$ to get them. Perfect for concerts, surf checks, and hiking.
Pros: Compact, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction
Excerpt: I used many Leica cameras and lenses, both rangefinder and SLR. I was always impressed with the quality of optics and build. When it was time to choose binoculars I went with my old standard. Most reviews compared Zeiss and Swarovski as comparable but I am extremely happy with the Leica product. Optics and build are still top notch.
Excerpt: This binocular is very small, lightweight, rugged and easy to carry. Can be put in a brief case for ready use. The optics are superb, beats many other binoculars, very good contrast details can be picked out even behind reflected glass/windows. The worst part of this package is the case, relatively speaking, but should sufficiently protect this little gem in most situation.
Pros: Compact, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Waterproof, Works Well With Glasses
Excerpt: I mostly use this for birds and at air shows. I have also used them at concerts and shows. I can't even pick a nit in the optical quality. Extra clear, bright image edge to edge with great eye relief. I wear glasses and they are great for glasses. You can easily see the entire field while wearing glasses. The binoculars adjust for optimum usage by non-glasses wearers by extending the eyepiece tubes.
Pros: Compact, Good Waranty, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Works Well With Glasses
