Excerpt: Perfect design, feels very comfortable in the hands. In my personal opinion, and like owner, it is almost identical like specs with Bushnell 8x42 Legend L-Series but with a bit more sharp focus, maybe because of the "Open Bridge" design. Don't hesitate, buy it, you can't find better for this price.
Excerpt: Celestron makes top-quality telescopes and this is evident in these Granite 8x42s.
I'm a long-time astronomy buff and these binos provided superb, wide-field views of star clusters, nebulae and galaxies. Mind you, I was at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon at 8400 ft elevation.
Excerpt: These are my first binoculars with ED glass. I have been using Nikon Trailblazers. The difference in image quality is immediately noticeable. The image is very crisp and the colors just seem to pop.
Excerpt: I am convinced that the name Celestron is the best kept secret when it comes to top quality binoculars. I have owned two Celestron telescopes that have given me great joy and satisfaction for many years because of their optical quality known the world over. Why not try their binoculars?
Excerpt: I love these binoculars! They are easy to use and easy to focus. Great value. The image is clear and bright. I wear glasses and found that this is the first pair of binoculars that I do not have to remove my glasses to use. I use these for birding on a daily basis.
Excerpt: WE HAVE TWO PAIR OF THESE BINOCULARS. THE COMBINATION OF WIDE FIELD OF VIEW AND STEADY IMAGE IS UNBEATABLE. WHAT YOU EXPECT IN A VERY EXPENSIVE BINOCULAR IS EDGE TO EDGE SHARPNESS, FINE DETAIL OF MACHINING, WATERPROOFING, ANTIFOGGING, LGHT WEIGHT, AND BEAUTY. THIS IS NOT AN EXPENSIVE BINOCULAr.
Excerpt: I gave these to my husband as a gift. He has already used them at a Nascar race and to watch ships sail the Chesapeake Bay. He wears bifocals and the Celestron Granite binocular has worked well with his glasses on or off.
Excerpt: I use these binoculars primarily for birdwatching. I also own a pair of Nikon 8x42 Monarch 5 binoculars, which I also like. They are on par in terms of optical quality (both being bright and sharp).
Summary: The title of this review says it all. When compared too my old set of bino's (a cheap pair of bresser 8x45 for about £50 if I remember correctly) the optics on these granite bino's make the old set look as if you are looking at something on a misty day. I kid you not!
