Great for boating

Capt. Steve, Canon
8 July 2014
  • Conclusion: I've had mine for almost 6 yrs. They are the primary binoculars on board, we cruise full time and they see use EVERY day! They are light, comfortable, sharp focus, and the stabilization is a must for use on a boat. The only problem I have is the rubberized coating on the exterior is turning into a sticky goo. It sticks to hands, the case, anything it contacts.
  • Pros: compact, lightweight, great focus
  • Cons: rubberized coating getting gooey

Excellent for Sports, Camping/Hiking

  • Excerpt: I was very impressed with these binoculars. If I had to describe them in a specific way, I would compare them to a first person video game, in which you turn on your sniper scope and breathe in to hold it from shaking. Pressing the stabilizer button has that effect, which makes viewing much easier and less jittery. I am very pleased with the purchase.
  • Pros: Close Focus, Compact, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction

perfect IS and SHARP!

KxBirds, Canon
24 May 2014
  • Conclusion: I have been using these binocs for several years and the IS is perfect and I depend on it. It is particularly beneficial for star-gazing - keeps your view steady while trying to see details and faint objects. For birdwatching it helps to stabilize your view so that the 12x magnification is not a drawback. I will never birdwatch or stargaze without these binocs!!

Great Binoculars

Big Swede, Adorama
30 April 2014
  • Excerpt: The stable image they provide allows greater detail to be seen. Not too big and heavy. 12x is really nice. Using mostly for birding. There is a small amount of CA under certain high contrast conditions. There will be a very small number of people who will get dizzy from the IS effect. Try before you buy.

Amazing Product

  • Excerpt: These are a perfect compromise between the high end expensive image stabilized binoculars and the entry models. They really work as advertised. It takes about one second for the IS to come on. It is easy to use with great glass. I bought a better case and cleaning tools for it. I recently went to Canyon de Chelly on a motorcycle trike trip. So glad to have these extra eyes.

Excellent.

Husband of a happy wife, Adorama
14 January 2014
  • Excerpt: I bought the Canon 12x36 IS II binoculars for my wife. She spends hours looking at birds and deer with my 10x42 European-made binoculars that are three times the cost of the Canons. They also weigh over thirty ounces and are difficult to hold steadily after a short time. The Canons at 22 ounces are easier to hold, and with the IS on, the image is almost totally stable even though they have 12x magnification. I was surprised and very impressed.
  • Pros: Impressive Is, Lightweight, Quality Lenses

Didn't realize what I was missing

RCC, B&H Photo
5 September 2013
  • Excerpt: Didn't realize what I was missing until I bought these. I bought these primarily for MLB baseball games. I'm amazed at how bright and sharp the view is and most of my games are indoors. The focus adjustment is a cinch and can be performed with or without the image stabilzation applied. The IS is truly wonderfuly making it possible to read detail at great distances which would otherwise just be a blur.
  • Pros: Easy to focus, Is, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction

These are dream binoculars

Mikey Bonz, B&H Photo
27 July 2013
  • Excerpt: I needed binoculars with a larger than normal interpupillary distance (greater than 72mm) these fit the bill and the 12x mag was a concern. It turned out to be great with the image stabilizer. The only down side I see is they come with a flimsy rubber cover for the eye pieces ( i lost one on my first excursion)but nothing to cover the lense end of the binoculars. I can't find covers anywhere on the after market scene either. I highly recommend this product.
