Conclusion: Being an amateur astronomer for 5 decades I have looked through many, many binoculars of all sizes, shaped, magnifications and objective size. I currently own at least 5 binoculars of various sizes. Of all these I use the Canon 10 X 30 IS the most.
Summary: This is a truly amazing product. Although the price is a bit high, it is worth looking at. Ever wanted the image to be a just a bit less shaky when using binoculars? Well, now it is. What can I say, this is a revoultionary product.
awesome product, could be a bit cheaper though ($900 new)

Summary: I bought a pair (secondhand), and boy do i love these, they are fantastic would recommend them to anyone looking for binos.i bought these for general and bird watching use and they outshine in every way.the only thing i dislike is they really need a hard case to put them in,not sure how they compare...
Conclusion: My first pair of these binoculars were great when new. After about 4 years the image stabilizing mechanism froze. Although I live about one mile from the coast, the Canon Factory Service said that they were corroded. Repairs would be almost the cost of a new pair...which I bought.
Pros: light weight very sharp for size.
Cons: not durable, not the quality one expects from canon
Summary: I've Had This Pair [10x30] For Several Years Now. A Friend Had A Pair And Showed Them To Me. I Was Amazed How Well They Work. I Had To Have A Pair. I Bought Mine That Same Day. These Are Crystal Clear And Steady As A Rock. All The Other Brands I've Had In The Past Gave Me A Headache. Not These.
Summary: I bought these for a present. I liked them so much I bough a pair for myself. I have two spotting scopes and other binoculars. I will probably never get another type. The image stabilization really works remarkably well. Just keep pressing the button becomes the image keeps getting steadier.
Summary: I wanted a pair of binoculars with a stabilizer. One reason was so I could read fuel prices down the road while vehicle is moving. When I got these and tried them at home while still, it was amazing how they steady things (like birds). I took them on the road and they work just as well.
Conclusion: Overall I'd rate these binos as a VERY good value from a price/performance perspective. Given the low price, the very strong flare/ghosting and annoying 'button hold' hassle take some shine off this product. i.e. the "modest" optical quality of these binos is the weakest part of the whole package.
