Excerpt: I am a image stablization fan. I have sold or mothballed all my non-IS binoculars a year or so ago. I own the Fujinon Techno-Stabi 14x42 and the Canon 18x50 IS binoculars. I use the Fujinon when I am on the water in my kayak.
Pros: Compact, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction
Excerpt: the first time I've been able to REALLY see the birds in my backyard; I love the "stabilizer"!! Until the "stabilizer", I always had trouble…as though I had the shakes !! Great Investment….just sorry I didn't know about the Canon 10x30 IS sooner !!
Pros: Close Focus, Compact, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Waterproof
Excerpt: Purchased 10x30 IS for my mother, whose hands shake too much for good vision through traditional binoculars. The image stabilization is superb, and the light collection is impressive. She needs the diopter correction (not mentioned in the specs, but is included).
Conclusion: Being an amateur astronomer for 5 decades I have looked through many, many binoculars of all sizes, shaped, magnifications and objective size. I currently own at least 5 binoculars of various sizes. Of all these I use the Canon 10 X 30 IS the most.
Excerpt: As a volunteer with the County Sheriff's Office, this IS binocular is a near perfect fit. Considered the 10x42 waterproof version, also an excellent choice, but for capability, weight, and functionality, these are ideal.
Pros: Close Focus, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction
Summary: This is a truly amazing product. Although the price is a bit high, it is worth looking at. Ever wanted the image to be a just a bit less shaky when using binoculars? Well, now it is. What can I say, this is a revoultionary product.
Excerpt: These are hard to rate. Optically they are very good and the image stabilizer works well so functionally they get 5 stars. The problem is that after about 2 years the black case starts to disintegrate. It gets all sticky and rubs off on everything.
Excerpt: Everyone that has used binoculars knows how frustrating and upsetting it is when you are looking at smaller objects and the image is jumping about because it is impossible to totally hold still unless you have the binoculars mounted. The Canon 10x30 IS binocular is your answer!
Pros: Close Focus, Comfortable to hold, Compact, Ease of use, Easy to focus, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction
Excerpt: My tremor had caused me to give up on binoculars. My wife loves birding. It was very frustrating. Now I can see all those cool details that allow identification. Most importantly I can now appreciate the beauty of birds and other wildlife. I wish I had made this purchase years ago.
Pros: Compact, Lightweight, Works Well With Glasses
awesome product, could be a bit cheaper though ($900 new)
