A Present for a small boy
16 May 2014
Summary: I wanted binoculars for my 5 yr old grandson and these are small and robust and will survive a lot of rough treatmeny. I also like the colours. However the packaging was not good. The cardboard box was ripped in one corner and the edges looked a bit worn. The plastic inside the box used to wrap the binoculars was crumbled and so I assume that they had been returned at some point and what I received was not first hand, which is a shame but I do not supposed a 5 yr old will...
Summary: Excellent for a child's first binoculars. Tough, good optically. Buy these not toy ones they are definitely worth it. The child I bought these for ignored her other Christmas presents after opening and of course did what we all did as children and looked down them backwards.....!
Summary: These felt really good in the hand, but when looked through one side was completely blurry. On closer inspection the left hand eyepiece was completely loose and wobbling in it's mounting. This gave me zero confidence in even asking for a replacement as I felt there was a good chance of it happening again if they got knocked. I noticed another review mentioned poorly molded mounting/eyepieces too, so I don't think it was a one-off.
Summary: My 4 year old grandson is delighted with this gift. He has a pair of plastic 'pretend' binoculars which he got from the front of a children's magazine but complained they 'didn't work.' These really work! They are very attractive, colourful and tough. Their rubber casing protects them against bumps and bangs. A really good buy and highly recommended.
