Summary: I've had this bass for nearly a year now and have to say it's one of the better basses I've had for the price of $150 at a local pawn shop. I play with a pick and this is the bass for that. Just by the look of it, it is an older bass and has had a rough life but the scratches and dings just adds character. The only thing I don't like is the fret buzz on the first fret. Overall its a fair bass.
Pros: Sharp tone and awesome feel for picking, good style, steal at the price.
Cons: Annoying fret buzz, goes through lots of batteries.
Summary: I absolutely love this thing, it feels great, it looks killer and it sounds amazing. just ignore the one knob that makes it buzz and your set ------------------------------ Yamaha club member 1, Long hair club member 10, and all around fairly decent guy.
Pros: Great tone, nice feel, good price
Cons: When you turn one of the knobs it buzzes uncontrolibly
Summary: not bad sound, but b-string little bit sux, factory setup is crap, a lot of fret buzz even after adjust, maybe cheap factory strings is the reason... active electronics really noisy if bass is close to working CRT displays, in other cases it\'s rather silent, even with distortion... try it very intently before you\'ll decide to buy it...
Summary: As a bass newbie, it may just be me, but... The finish is not durable - the black paint is chipping and flaking to reveal a bright red undercoat. Set-up seems difficult, with lots of buzz from the bridge end of the fret board. An electronic tuner shows the frequency hunting around the note on the open string. Finally, it is noisy! A clean sound seems very difficult to find. Perhaps I was given a Friday afternoon dog?? Try before you buy.
Summary: Played a lot of basses looking for one in this price range. This model had the features and the sounds that I was looking for. Well constructed and can be played for extended periods. Love this bass!
Summary: This is a very easy bass to play, possibly more so than the 170 and 270 that i started learning on. Comes with two active pickups which give a noticably clearer sound than passives lower in the range. Fish around for a price, but this model is new and rarely discounted. Don\'t be fooled by the model number. The RBX375 is inferior to this bass according to Yamaha, and i\'d agree.
Pros: Nice sound with active pickups for reduced hum
Excerpt: The sound on this bass has a wide range with the two humbucker pickups. It can switch from a Jazz bass sound to the low growl of a P-bass. I use an even mix of both alot because it is just a great sound.
