Very good bass

pinio, Yamaha
21 November 2014
  • Summary: Very good and tonally balanced. Sounds very good, the instrument can be connected to the line and always sounds great. A large improvement in sound and design in relation to the BB415. Stiffer and slightly thicker, but more comfortable neck. Unfortunately, the saddle looks and the same (breaks). Finish the edge of the frets might be more accurate at the bottom. PS. I recommend to change the volume to 500k potentiometer and capacitor to Orange Drop.
  • Pros: Fun To Play, Good Feel, Good Pick Up, Good Tone, Solid Electronics

The best 5 string passive bass ever

Ron-Ron, Yamaha
5 May 2014
  • Summary: This is the best 5 string passive bass for the money in the market. I've tried Fender, Ibanez, Ernie Ball, Epiphone, etc. None of the others has the tone, clarity, flexibility and comfort of the BB425. I play mostly in a church venue. If I need to slap, it's there. If I need a jazzy sound, it's there. If I need more twang, it's there. The only one better might be the 1025, or the BBNE2. But for the price and quality - Yamaha beats the rest hands down.

Solid Bass

Chuckbass, Yamaha
25 August 2013
  • Summary: The BB425x is a great addition, it has a solid sound with great playability. It cuts through very well in the mix with the 4 piece band I play with. The one and only drawback I've had is the bridge pickup being too close to the strings and not being able to avoid it popping on the strings.
