Useful little NAS box

Kyle C., Newegg
11 October 2011
  • Summary: I haven't really tried using this as a media PC, it's mainly just a NAS box, and works great for it.
  • Pros: Works great as a small WinXP NAS/FTP/HTTP server. Lights aren't too bright except for the white HD LED. Has an eSATA port to connect my 1TB external HD, Gigabit LAN, and an 802.11b/g/n card.
  • Cons: Could use another USB port on the front, the cover on the top one's kind of annoying too.

Nice looking, lightweight

pedro c., Newegg
29 April 2011
  • Summary: It is a great system for headless file servers, webservers or media servers. Not good for HTPC duties on performace considerations alone.
  • Pros: Nice-looking glossy box. Can be supported upright, flat or behind the monitor with the included bracket. Usb ports on all sides of the box except the bottom. Internal wifi, played nice with ssd, low power consumption. Internal fan is silent, Big blue lighted circle to indicate its on not too brig...
  • Cons: White led indicating drive activity is a little too bright, no esata port multiplier support, stutters with anything close to 720p and above in linux.

720P Only

Darren G., Newegg
24 February 2011
  • Pros: Small, pretty - actually has two DIMM slots (specs say only 1), wifi lots of ports - HDMI.
  • Cons: Only does 720P. I bought this for the TV but I will have to find something else. 1080P is entry-level, these days.
