Cons: This machine is used as a linux workstation, bios has been updated, etc. The machine (successfully) reboots only 50% of the time and has to be powercycled more often that you'd expect for a $500 bare-bones machine. Stock Fan is also really loud - I had to buy a replacement "quiet fan" from another vendor.
Summary: Be carefull with the bios upgrade, the windows 32 and 64 are DOS executable so if you click them they wont open a confirmation and will start flashing right away (quite risky...
Pros: Very powerful for the size, plenty of USB 2.0 and 3.0 port, ventilation seem to be good, casted heat sink bracket give a nice finish
Cons: The usb 3.0 driver are not ready yet for windows 8, the usb phone charging driver isn't availlable for windows 8 either, had to use an ASUS driver to get the usb 3.0 port working in windows, this is a matter of time probably but still not acceptable for a 500$ barebone...
Summary: Even after we had exchanged all the parts and built another Shuttle system with this same model, the system will sometimes post, other times it will freeze after being on for two minutes or just display a scrambled screen.
Pros: Nice refresh on front face
Cons: We have ordered and built about 50 total shuttle systems and this new model has massive issues with Power supply and posting.
