Fans run at full blast

  • Summary: I suspect that if I divine the mysteries of the FRUSDR file (but how do I do that?) I can reconfigure this for something sane, but given that the case and system board are both Intel and both pre-integrated, that should not be necessary.
  • Pros: Integrated RAID with expander, handles 12 drives, nice packaging, compact, shipped quickly, redundant fans, lots of available firmware updates, high density, well-documented.
  • Cons: Loud! Louder all-by-itself than our entire colocation facility. For some reason the fans run at moon-rocket-takeoff hearing-damaging-intensity 100% of the time.
