Great little server with remote management!

  • Summary: Be careful to order only UDIMM for this guy. Nice remote management is available cheaply. (Optional extra.
  • Pros: Good docs. Good FW support. Good general support. Ivy bridge. Nice remote management (optional extra) is available! Nice price. Lots of Intel tech crammed into one little box.
  • Cons: UDIMM only, tho that's partly an advantage. (Low latency.)

  • Summary: Price solid, hardware top of line stable, and the documentation on how to unleash it, well questionable at best. Out of the box better than anything I have played with for the price or any price. Just make the over the top features user friendly and they will own the nerd world.
  • Pros: We will make it basic; have 4 of these with E3-1230, Seagate Constellation ES.2 ST32000645NS 2TB 7200 RPM SATA, and 2 * Kingston Model KVR1333D3E9SK2/8G for 16 GB per server. For about $1350 a hit nothing beats them. Use them for a development environment on Linux with MYSQL and well basically a JAVA pres and service layer that is a virtualized. They scream for the price on this combo.
  • Cons: Software bundle for management not as good as it should be. Not in the fact of what it can do; the bios shell seems awesome but good luck finding documentation on how it works. This is an amazing platform but Intel needs to document it a little better.
