Almost perfect for convenient store uses

  • Summary: I had a Omni-directional scanner before, but its motor broke. Than I got a 35$ Tao scanner, while it works alright on paper and plastic surface, but it can't read codes on cans and some deformed codes (ex: eggs, rounded packing) and codes behind plastic packaging are also hard to read.
  • Pros: - Fast and accurate reading on almost any surface and deformed codebar. Works wonderfully in a convenient store - Can be setup for many different situation, output customization is almost endless.
  • Cons: - Code has to be placed parallel under the beam, but some items are hard to put into that position. my old omni-direction scanner has a clear advantage here. - While being very versatile/customizeable , setup can be cumbersome and hard to understand for beginner users. (Got it working correctly a...

  • Summary: Not sure why, but no cord is included. The only thing included is the scanner. Cord was pretty expensive for having to purchase separately.
  • Pros: Great scanner, works as intended.
  • Cons: This is a wires scanner, but comes with no cord?

Rugged and reliable performer

Allen C., Newegg
30 March 2014
  • Summary: Out of all the different scanners we tried, we like this one the best!
  • Pros: It just works out of the box. Simple instruction is easy to follow. There are cheaper scanners out there, but if you want reliability and performance, just buy this industrial strength scanner. Cheaper ones have thin and weak laser lines, this one has big and wide lines that instantly recognize a...
  • Cons: This is a wired scanner, but the connection cable can be pulled out. Might confuse someone into thinking it is a wireless scanner, which it is not. So maybe if the connection part can be redesigned to indicated that it is not meant to be pulled out.

Simple and easy to use

CHRIS S., Newegg

  • Summary: I will purchase again. The cost is worth the speedy scanning.
  • Pros: Used this product for a web based point of sale system. It is a plug and play UPC scanner. They do include some options sheets to change if you want a carriage return after scan or tab, etc... which is nice
  • Cons: Had a small problem reading Code 128... but when we tried Code 128 from a different program it read fine. No cons that I can think of
