Excerpt: The Surf steers really well and is great looking, I have it in pink and it's striking. Folds well but handle seems a tad flimsy. The shopping basket is fine if your only purchase is a newspaper. My little 6month old seems happy and comfy in it, however my advise is don't bother purchasing the Moses basket extra attachment I found it a waste of money as the actual pram can recline fully flat and is basically the same.
Silver Cross Surf Pram and Pushchair: Negative experience brilliant pram
15 September 2013
Summary: Firstly I want to Say this pram is beautiful. I bought it in april 2012 from a mainstream retailer for y baby to be born in October 2012, I opened the box in July to find the frame was scratched to pieces and looked used. I returned it to mother care with no qualms or questions about giving me a new pram. The new one was then delivered and I was over joyed. I got the black version with a black Ventura plus car seat which adds on to The pram as a travel system.
Summary: One of the reasons I bought this pram was as it was by far the easiest pram to put up and down out of all of the ones I tried. It also fit in my Fiesta boot. I bought the full travel system including the car seat and carry cot. The car seat can be used rear facing up to 13kg so will do my daughter until she is over the age of one, which is great. I must say, in hindsight, the carrycot attachment was a waste of money.
Pros: Easy to put up and down, fits in most car boots, looks stylish
Summary: I was given this as a present and absolutely hate it. As another reviewer has said it is too tall and narrow and finding things in it is a nightmare as the opening is too small. You end up having to empty the whole thing. Just as well I'm breast feeding as it will only take a few nappies, wipes, spare baby-gro, purse and keys. The only good thing is the padded changing mat but it can only be inserted into its compartment easily if there is nothing else in the bag.
Excerpt: Have had my Surf for 6 months now and I love it as does my daughter! We used the cot attachment from birth, which was fantastic, being a September baby it has kept her warm, cosy and protected from the elements all through the winter. She has just gone in to the push chair seat, which is lovely for her even when reclined right back she can still see everything which she loves, shes a very nosey baby, she is nice and secure and the foot muff is lovely and soft and fleecy!
Excerpt: The folding mechanism failed and (locked in upright position) twice within the first two years. Within warranty, it was repaired free of charge but when the fault occurred again, Silver Cross would not acknowledge that there was a fault with the chassis and the only way to have it assessed & repaired was to pay a courier charge of £25. Otherwise, this is a lightweight, stylish buggy...completely useless without a functioning chassis. Expensive and unreliable.
Excerpt: I have had my pram for 8 months and the front right wheel wont turn and is stiff. Although it is easy to put up and down there is no space for your shopping to go on to, the small basket can not fit much in either. It is a stylish pram but even the replacement wheels mothercare have gave to me whilst my wheels get sent off have the same problem with the wheels; looks like I will be wanting a full refund and getting a different make of pram.
Excerpt: I am going to write this review as When me and my wife were choosing a pram we found it very confusing and relied on sites like this for opinions. We are proud owners of a silver cross surf bought from a local independent retailer and I hope to help you first time mums and dads who, like me, hadn't a clue what was going on! The pram itself is stylish, modern and very well built.
Excerpt: I bought this pram 12 weeks ago. I had a Silver Cross 4D before and loved it so thought I'd give this one a try. Although quite expensive, the Surf looks great, is light to handle, fits easily in my boot and is easy to fold up once you get the hang of it. I bought the carry cot too for my baby to sleep in during the day when she was down stairs and to lie flat when tiny as when she was in the normal infants part of the pram she looked like she might fall out.
Excerpt: This pram is lovely to look at but after 8 months of owning it I can no longer fold it. The front wheels also hard to move so I use it with locked wheels, even though I sent it for repair. On the plus side if you get one the rain cover is really good.
