Love it, love it, love it

ElsW73, Made for Mums

  • Summary: Bought bugaboo donkey twin at mothercare using price match - so total price inc car seat adaptor around £900. Not cheap at all but so far (8mo twins) so good and v pleased with our purchase. Resale values good so overall will work out similar price to cheaper options with no resale Easy to steer on footpath, round shops and light off road (towpath, through local woods but on well worn path, on grass in park)
  • Pros: Best points: great to push / steer, carrycot size was good (lasted well beyond friends using i-candy, up until about 6kg and would have gone on longer) and carrycot mattresses v comfy so used for daytime sleeps for ages (so saved money by never buying Moses baskets), fits most doors in pram / buggy mode, quick and easy to fold / unfold once you get the knack and the catches loosen up, flexible seating in buggy mode (fwd face, parent face), ability to recline one twin ...
  • Cons: Worst points: heavy to lift, rain covers didn't really fit in pram mode (but v easy in buggy mode), frustrating instruction book, slightly too wide in twin car seat mode to get into most shops (fine in supermarkets though), gets a lot of attention (although perhaps this is my super cute boys too!), same frame for buggy seats and carry cots so once switched to buggy mode itsnotmquick to switch back Price of accessories is high - still holding off on cosy toes as that w...

Bugaboo Donkey Stroller

Jennifer, baby earth
13 August 2012
  • Summary: We were so excited to receive our Bugaboo Donkey. It has proved to be the perfect stroller for us especially since we plan to have more children. It glides down the road and a baby can sleep through the bumps. It's very versatile and easy to maneuver and use. We love it and highly recommend it!

Absolutely Brilliant!

Pipsicles, Made for Mums
9 April 2012
  • Summary: I LOVE this pram! When we had our first, we always knew we'd want a second fairly close in age, so we started off with a phil and ted's tandem that was passed on to us from a friend. With the use of their 'peanut' bassinet, that pram was brilliant for the first 5 months or so, but as soon as my baby boy had to be facing outwards, my feelings towards it suddenly changed.
  • Pros: There are so many different combinations for the way this pram can be used. In mono mode the basket is wonderful and I am already beginning to wonder how I will adjust to not having the changing bag right there! Even with changing bag in tow, there is plenty of room in the basket for shopping. It is often the dads that are most attracted to the basket actually - perhaps they like the idea of not needing to carry all the shopping! It pushes so nicely and is a lot slimm...
  • Cons: It is heavy - there is no doubt about that, but it doesn't have to be folded with the seats on and we have managed to fit it in the back of our little astra for the last 6months by taking the big back wheels off, which isn't as much of a hassle as it sounds. We have however, just bought a bigger car to accommodate the second seat when the baby arrives. Yes, it's expensive, but they are available second hand if you're not too precious about it being brand new - all the...

" Lovely to push and easy to fold…"

  • Excerpt: I absolutely love my bugaboo donkey. I have 2 kids under 2 and being able to interchange between forward and parent facing seats is fantastic. Also, the maxi cosi sits really high in the new model which means you don't have to bend over. I constantly switch between using it as a single and a double depending on whether ds1 wants to walk or not or when I only have one child with me. The basket is so handy too. It folds down easily and fits into my boot no problem.

" Best for babies…"

Twinsplusonesurprise, Mumsnet
23 December 2013
  • Excerpt: Fabulous. Love it. Tiny twins so cosy & comfy in flat carrycots, then face you then face the world. Brilliant suspension, padded seats, secure straps, one hand to push & steer. Great now for singleton too. Folding a small palaver but all prams with removable seats are the same.

" I can't fault it.…"

JessMcL, Mumsnet
14 July 2013
  • Excerpt: A great pushchair. Purchased 12 months ago before the arrival of my third child, I used it as a single (in "mono" mode) and thought it was great- loved having the basket on the side to put in jackets, teddies etc so I wasn't rooting in the underneath for things and was great when I was nipping to the shops for a loaf of bread and pint of milk- no shopping basket or bags required which can be a faff with pushchairs!
