Conclusion: If Apple ever decides to take up the “hobby” of making baby monitors, it’s going to have a hard time making a product better than Withings. But all that attention to detail comes at a price: the monitor (which includes a magnetic crib-side stand and a carry bag) is $299.
Conclusion: The Withings Smart Baby Monitor is a fantastic concept, and definitely a must-have for parents who love their iPhones. It does everything a monitor should do very well, looks chic and offers a great solution for watching your baby when out. Just beware of the ‘buffering’ if you’re a parent who wants constant baby monitoring as you may miss small chunks of activity.
Pros: Limitless range - you can see your baby where ever you are, simple set up, can have more than one parent device connected, picture and sound quality is very good when it isn't buffering, What I really love about this monitor is the flexibility it offers. I can see my daughter Heidi whilst sitting on my sofa, or when I’m out for a meal with my husband. Cons: Prone to buffering (which means missing out on small chunks of activity), delay in talk-back, I suppose the one thing that lets the Withings Smart Baby Monitor down for me is the thing that is so great about it - relying on your iPhone. I found myself looking at a sign that said ‘buffering’ quite a lot of the time, which meant I kept missing out on small chunks of activity.
