Summary: Hi, I had got this monitor for my 2 month old son. The first set was faulty and I was able to return it within the first 30 days. the replacement monitor worked for 2 months and has now stopped working. I am surprised by the poor quality of the product and how Motorola can allow their brand name to be tarnished in this way.
Summary: have not had the opportunity to gage this monitor against any other manufacture but I would not need to as this fills the requirements it work well downstairs in the lounge as well as in the adjacent bedroom .Without having the charger attached the battery last for at least eight hours before a recharge
Summary: Ohhh yes!!! Just what u want from a monitor!! I don't really understand what the negative comments r for, but this monitor it does just what i need: to alert me when my baby needs me!! It's amazing sound, clear as u where in the same room, it picks up just when it has too, if u put the volume up it becomes more sensible. The switch off...just sometimes u have to switch it off twice, but i don't mind.
Summary: I bought this item for an unusual reason, but it would work equally well for its intended purpose. It works well as a monitor for a freestanding PIR alarm in an adjoining detached property. The reason for mentioning this is that it works well through one or even two exterior cavity walls. It would be of use as a baby monitor in a large house. I obviously didn't need a talk-back facility or a lullaby function, to this seemed to be the best value item.
