Summary: Tricky one. 'Digital Pan' means the unit stays still, your basically just moving within a set space. So basically the pan relatively limited. I've set ours up about 1m away from cot, roughly 2m high on the wall & that gets almost all of babas cot in view without need to pan. Quality isn't amazing at night, but clear enough. Only the parent unit is battery powered. The camera has to plugged in.
Summary: The monitor is great in so many ways. Very clear picture, great sound quality and mega easy to use. It does however lose a star for battery life. It's terrible - after 2 hours it's beeping away to be charged (very loudly) I find I am keeping it plugged into it's charger 24/7! Other than that, a great video monitor for the price.
Do I miss the other traditional monitor? Erm.... Nope!

Summary: Bought this when our monitor which didn't have a camera/ screen stopped working. The picture quality is good both in the day and also with night vision. You can control the camera from another room via the hand unit which is great as I have a two year old and nine month old baby so I can easily change the direction of the camera to monitor both. You can also hear if one of them should start to cry whilst in their room. Do I miss the other traditional monitor? Erm....
