Summary: I want to begin with the high point. This is so comfortable I find myself loath to take it off. I find myself thinking up places to go where I would need to carry the baby in the backpack. I have even decided to dispense with the baby sitter and take the baby ballroom dancing--I can MOVE in this thing and I am balanced so well that moving backwards and forwards, side to side, and even up and down is comfortable in this thing. So I am delighted with this.
Summary: I bought this carrier because we were going to Europe for a few weeks, and remembered from the last time I was there the cobblestone streets, old multiple story buildings, and public transit weren't suited for a stroller. My daughter's a little over a year, so the Baby Bjorn seemed a little small and it hurt our backs anyway, so wasn't viable as an option for single use anyway.
Summary: My recent experience using this child carrier for the first time while hiking in Door County, Wisconsin, specifically over some of the more rough terrain in Ridges Sanctuary, finally provided relief to the cognitive dissonance that started setting in shortly after purchase. After several miles of hiking, no pain or soreness materialized in my back whatsoever while carrying a 25-pound (about 11.5-kg) child.
Summary: we've been backpacking for years. we're really excited we found this pack...it's very well designed. we've tried our friends' kelty packs and this one is in a totally different league...it doesn't even compare. our daughter is just barely 5 mo. and is already enjoying hikes with us everyday in this.
We were initially hesitant to purchase this pack only…
4 December 2004
Summary: We were initially hesitant to purchase this pack only because it is relatively new to NA (say compared to the Kelty) and there were not a lot of reviews on it. However, it has been around Europe for a long time and we did manage to access the reviews (in German!). We have yet to take this pack on an extended trip and we will add to this review when we do. So far we've taken short hikes (up to 2.5 hours).
