Not good for a heavy baby
7 September 2015
Excerpt: My husband and I both used this carrier when our baby was a new born and had no issues. We used it most of the time instead of a stroller and she would fall right to sleep. Now she's 6 months old and over 16 pounds and I did not have enough support from this carrier.
Excerpt: We registered for this carrier because we thought it would be good for our baby who has club feet and would have casts and a boots and bar brace. It was great at first when the baby was small and just in casts.
Excerpt: I was given a Baby Bjorn and used it with my daughter until she was about 3 months old. It was a lifesaver but it quickly began hurting my back and I could no longer wear her for longer than about 10 minutes.
Excerpt: I used this while my baby was about 10-15 lbs. When he was VERY little I used the wrap which he loved and went right to sleep when inside.
As the baby got heavier I couldn't use the bjorn carrier any more, all of the weight is on your shoulders.
Excerpt: Great product for a newborn! However, once your baby is outfacing, the bjorn is not ideal anymore. This is because the baby's face is partially covered with the bjorn. If you unclasp the 2 top clasps the bjorn and fold down, so that baby's face is not covered, the bjorn does not support mom's back...
Excerpt: I disagree with a lot of the reviews that are out there on the internet on this carrier stating that it is brilliant and really comfy to carry baby around all day. I found it to be in fact the total opposite.
Excerpt: I received this as a gift. I'm seriously thinking about buying a different carrier because I do not enjoy the Bjorn. It makes me sad that I don't like to use it because I love to walk with my daughter close to me but the Bjorn digs into my shoulders and kills my back.
