Summary: My son is very tall and looked crammed in our snug ride we had purchased when my daughter was born in 2011. We ordered this so he would have more room and stay in it longer through winter. I think he has a little more room but not a lot. I thought we would be able to use one of the bases fro. Our old snug ride but that is not the case. We ended up purchasing another one:( there was a rebate offered when I purchased it but cannot bund the form now. I like graco products.
Summary: Pros: rather lightweight, good plastic performance from the point of safety; Cons: cheap materials, insufficient head support for a newborn, while installing with a base it has more a sitting than lying position for a baby (installed accordingly with built-in indicator), straps must be tighten from the side of a head what isn't an easy task at all especially if the carseat is already in the car.
Summary: Needed 2nd base for 2nd vehicle. I know, you could buy a whole car seat plus the base for about $80, but remember, you can usually only use an infant seat for at most a year, then you have to upgrade to a convertible seat. Our little one is tiny, so she only fits in an infant seat for now, hence me buying a 2nd base. I'll save the $50 and put it toward a convertible seat in a year or so. Assuming you already have one base, you should know how to install this one.
