Best Seat For Our Little Guy

3bees, the baby Scoop
14 February 2012
  • Excerpt: I’ll preface this review by saying that the Bumbo is definitely not for all babies, but it was a compete lifesaver for us. We took it almost everywhere with us. Our little guy wasn’t overly chubby, so he fit into it perfectly and it supported him when he had just learned to sit up. I love how portable it is and easy to clean. We would put it on the floor and our son would sit happily playing with his toys. We were quite sad when he outgrew it.

Bumbo with tray

Annwen123, Made for Mums
13 June 2011
  • Summary: Great product, probably one of the best baby buys I've ever made
  • Pros: The Bumbo lets baby sit upright so they can see what’s going on. Keeps baby safe if you need to leave the room for a minute of if you have other children around. The playtray provides the perfect height surface to play a toy/book on for baby to play with or read. My daughter has loved reading her animals book and playing with her rattle whilst sat in there. It will be ideal for when she starts finger foods as the tray is in easy reach for little hands Its portable, I ...
  • Cons: I haven't found any.

It's a good chair because you can just put your baby in without worrying if they will hurt themselves.

  • Summary: Its OK for small babies but not if your baby is mobile and gets bored easily.
  • Pros: Can leave child in for a while if your busy. It is approved by pediatricians and orthopedic doctors.
  • Cons: They get bored just sitting after a while. If you dont have a tray they cant play with toys.

  • Summary: great piece of kit. i found it essential and a lifesaver with my eldest and will use it again with my little one. Need to buy a tray though as it didnt come with one.
  • Pros: lightweight and movable. Iused to feed my son in this when we went to the grandparents and he could sit up. He also enjoyed sitting in this and playiong with his toys without me worrying if he would fall anyway and hurt himself
  • Cons: when my son started to roll around he also got to grips with pulling himself out of it

  • Summary: A piece of kit i couldnt be without, loved it so much the children have one each as my 23mnth old still likes sitting in it to watch tv!
  • Pros: all manner of nastyness wipes off no bother, great for early weaning and a baby desperate to sit up, my children both loved sittng next to a box of toys and rumaging through! portable and light, doesnt take up much room at all. used my sons until he was 14mnths.
  • Cons: the price has almost doubled since i brough my sons 2yrs ago, but they sell reasonably on auction sites nearly new sales etc. the play tray is seperate, and ive heard it pops off easily so havent brought one.

Good while it lasts!

Gemma Black, Made for Mums

  • Summary: Useful up until your baby starts to pull out it.
  • Pros: The Bumbo allowed my baby to sit up and have a look at what was going on when she started to get bored with lying down/sitting in her bouncer chair. It held her in place and I offered her some first foods in it. Nice and stable and we also bought the play tray for her. It is also very portable.
  • Cons: My daughter is only 6 months and she's already starting to try and pull herself out of it. The box says 4 to 14 months but we'll be lucky to get another 2 months out of it I think. Works out expensive for the limited time it is useful for, in my experience.

ONE OF MY BEST BUYS

Carmel Wilkinson, Made for Mums
12 July 2008
  • Summary: A must have for weaning, so robust it'll last you for 3 or 4 children so excellent value for money. Safe and supportive. I really cannot say enough about this product, it truly was a best buy.
  • Pros: I'd agree with all the above. Portable, easily cleaned, soft and supportive. It was ideal for weaning my daughter as she was slow to sit undaided. This provides the correct support for baby without putting any pressure on their tiny little spine. It says on the box it's endorsed by physiotherapists and orthopaedic surgeons for it's spinal support. We used to sit our daughter on the dining room table whilst feeding her and it was the perfect height for our backs!! We o...
  • Cons: ...I really can't think of any. Oh yes, some brigtly coloured veg (butternut squash and carrot) have stained the Bumbo, but I did foolishly buy the pale pink one. A friend of mine's little boy prised himself out of his, but he was exceptionally big and tall for his age, it was also coming to the end of his suitability for the Bumbo.
