Britax Roundabout

Consumer Democracy
23 August 2008
  • Summary: If only we all had the chance to ride in such comfort and safety! I have this carseat for two main reasons: 1) I read great reviews from other parents; and 2) It is one of the few carseats we found that accommodate babies heavier than 22 lbs. in the rear-facing position. The recommended procedure is to have the seat rear-facing until the baby is at least one year old AND 20 lbs. Most (all but 3 I found) carseats only hold up to 22 lbs.
  • Pros: It's one of the few seats that hold up to 30 lbs. (not just 20 or 22) in the rear-facing position:)
  • Cons: Nothing...

Britax Roundabout

Consumer Democracy
25 December 2007
  • Summary: After trying all the popular brands (Evenflo, Century, Fisher Price, etc.)and finding them lacking I decided to try the Britax. Though it was pricier than most it was well worth the money given the quality of construction. The straps that secure the baby/toddler is much thicker and tightly woven than the brands listed above, making the strap tangle proof. There are side latches that help secure the care seat better. I was also impressed with the amount of padding.
  • Pros: Sturdy and well padded

Britax Roundabout

Consumer Democracy
14 September 2007
  • Summary: This is the only carseat that I have found that can handle a less than 1 year old infant that is over 20lbs. The tethering system allows it to be held more securely than any other seat that we have seen. The Britax has more padding than any other carseat that we have seen and has proven to be very comfortable for our Daughter. I would never buy another type of seat for this age range since safety is my primary concern.
  • Pros: It is very secure in vehicle, it will rear-face up to 30 lbs
  • Cons: nothing

Britax Roundabout

25 May 2007
  • Summary: Perfect for heavier infants under one year old because it can stay rear facing till they are 30 pounds. We love the tether feature. It really securely holds the seat and it doesn't move at all. We feel it is probably the best and safest car seat currently available.
  • Pros: only car seat that tethers, rear and forward facing, best and safest available
  • Cons: one of most expensive, but you pay for quality

Britax Roundabout

Consumer Democracy
6 May 2007
  • Summary: This is a great carseat from 6 mos to past 3 years since it is changeable from rear to forward facing. It's 5 point harness system make it very safe. Although it is a little heavy making it hard to move from car to car and a tough to remove the cover and straps for cleaning, it's safety rating and change features make it worth the price.
  • Pros: removing straps/cover for cleaning difficult
  • Cons: removing straps/cover for cleaning difficult

Britax Roundabout

Consumer Democracy
28 April 2007
  • Summary: This is one of the best car seats that I have seen. It's very easy to use and is one of the safest car seats there is. I love the tether system. It also has protection from the metal part becoming hot and burning your infant/child. The belts can also be held to the side by velcro, when not in use, making it very easy to put a child in.
  • Pros: Safety, Tether system, Ease of use, durability
  • Cons: Hard to carry when not in car

Britax Roundabout Car Seats Rating

Consumer Democracy
2 March 2007
  • Summary: Even though this car seat was so expensive, I would not hesitate to buy it again. I have another car seat (Century I think) that is so difficult to adjust. It's thin straps are constantly twisting. I hate it! The Britax is much better! I feel like my child is safe and comfortable.
  • Pros: Very easy to use, comfortable...thick straps never get twisted...looks nice...stays tight in car
  • Cons: A little hard to change from reclining to upright position.

  • Summary: This is the best car seat money can buy! A bit expensive but worth it. It fits very tightly and securely in any vehicle, and has just the right amount of height for my baby now turned toddler to view the action while mommy is driving. Almost like a virtual ride for them so they don't get bored. It is still his all time favorite car seat, he never wants to get out of it! Unheard of for a toddler! Try it! You will not regret it!
  • Pros: could use a recliner feature
  • Cons: could use a recliner feature

Consumer Democracy
20 November 2006
  • Summary: This is an awesome carseat. I felt a little silly spending so much on the seat, but for comfort and safety, it was worth every penny. My daughter loves her carseat and the customer service I received was great when I ordered a replacement seat cover. Best seat around.
  • Pros: Very easy to install and very comfortable for baby.

Britax Roundabout

Consumer Democracy
18 November 2006
  • Summary: My daughter had purchased two other carseats for my grandson that were very difficult for her to install. The tether straps were not found on many of the carseats at this time. The seats were not stable and were always needing adjustments. I bought a Britax carseat for my car so I would have one when she visited. We liked it so well, we bought another one for her car. My grandson is now 3 years old and still rides comfortably in the Roundabout by Britax.
  • Pros: too expensive
