Summary: I knew I wanted this seat from day one, Britax is all I buy! I was very bummed that it didn't fit in my 2007 Jeep Compass. For one I couldn't get a tight fit with the base, tried installing it with latch and seatbelt. Both ways had excessive movement. The anti rebound bar didn't make correct contact with my seat. No matter what I did, the bubble indicator always said it was unlevelled. Lastly, most of the base hung off my seat, which personally I didn't like.
Summary: I thought this car seat looked awesome, had great safety ratings and looked comfortable. This is my third baby.. 2 nd car seat. Baby is six months golf, 15#.. and I can barely lift or maneuver with third car seat. I have to deal with it for 6 more months! Also had to go through a huge hassle to get adapters from the factory for the stroller... Miss my chicco key fit... the grass is not always greener.
Pros: Safe, Stylish
Cons: Bulky, Difficult To Adjust, Difficult to Set Up, Hard to Install, Heavy, Uncomfortable
Summary: We used this car seat with our now 2.5-year.old, and always just thought she was one of those kids who hates being in a car seat, as she always screamed her lungs out from the moment we put her in until the moment we took her out. She was and is an unusually active kid, so we just figured she didn't like being strapped in. Now we are using it again with our 2-month-old, who's generally very easy-going, but she also screams her lungs out as long as she's in this car seat.
Pros: Easy to Adjust, Easy to install, Large Canopy, Safe, Sturdy
Summary: I bought this for my third child, before he was born. My main reasons for buying this product was because it is a Britax and it has good safety features, such as the rebound bar and side impact protection. When it came I found a piece of foam in the box with a tag that said to insert if using for a baby with low birth weight (up to 11 pounds). Figuring I'd have a "low weight newborn" (under 11 pounds) I struggled to insert this foam.
Pros: Easy to install, Safe
Cons: Cheap fabric, Difficult To Adjust, Difficult to Set Up, Tight fit, Uncomfortable
Summary: I have used several types of Britax seats over the years (Marathon, Rounabout, Decathalon and Frontier) and have found them all to be easy to use. Iwas looking forward to a thoughtfully constructed seat in the Chaperone. Sadly for me, I find this seat difficult to use compared to the other Britaxes and other bucket seats I've used.
Summary: July 23rd, 2010
This seat is well-made and extremely safe... that is if it actually fits in your vehicle. Since it could not be installed safely in the center of the our Acura MDX (not a small SUV by any measure), I cannot imagine what type of vehicle you have to have for this seat to work. The base is just simply HUGE and at least 30% of it hung off the seat (no more than 20% should overhang for a safe install).
