BUYER BEWARE--NOT REALLY CONVERTIBLE

kelene, epinions.com
21 August 2007
  • Summary: Don't buy to use rear facing because it only has 10" leg room and will greatly compromise an infant's comfort and safety. Wait til your child turns one.
  • Pros: Safety reviews
  • Cons: Rear-facing leg room and poor customer service.

kid can't see around TSIP

mom of one, diapers.com
25 February 2007
  • Summary: We bought this car seat because of the side impact protection, but that is the very reason that this seat is so uncomfortable! My poor active, curious kid cannot see around the head protection and spends his time in the car leaning forward and craning his neck. I would get the Marathon if I had it to do over.

DANGER!Toddlers can easily loosen straps

Julie, mother of 2, owner of 3 Britax seats, diapers.com
1 November 2006
  • Summary: My toddler son can easily reach down, lift the Velcro fabric patch, lift the metal release clamp and loosen the straps on his car seat. This appears to be a common problem from other postings I've read. BEWARE -- 3 Britax seats --Blvd, Marathon and Wizard -- use this faulty strapping system.

Serious Problems

Nikki, Ben's mama, diapers.com
1 November 2006
  • Summary: I was driving and we had to short stop. At the same time I turned around to see my son fling forward. He reached down and pulled the lever loosening the straps. My husband suggested sowing it shut. I also tried to get in touch with Britax and was unable. Frankly I am very suprised.
