Summary: I purchased this audio system primarily to listen to classical music, both on cd and radio. The depth and warmth of the sound is wonderful and exactly what I wanted, having grown beyond my basic sony system. The yamaha system looks terrific and fits our traditional decor perfectly. Excellent value for the price!
Summary: I bought this for my mother. She ha some large thing from the 1980's and finally replaced it with this. Using it for cd's and xm radio (sinatra and 40's) I am amazed at this device and it's simplicity. Usable in any room, plenty of volume with low distortion. Would be great in an office.
Summary: Was set to get a Bose Wave... So glad I found this unit. Sounds incredible.. stylish looks.. very intuitive controls! At a much better price point... Yamaha gave us a real winner! Only bad IPod cradles not included.
Summary: This items has all the features I was looking for: CD player, FM radio, docket for MP3 player. The sound is great--and travels far enough. I have it located in my living room, which is close to my DR and open kitchen...can hear very well in all places. PLUS, it's compact and attractive! Love the brick color, and the picture is accurate. All in all, a great package that is very affordable.
Summary: I waited awhile to make this purchase ... should I spend more than $100.00 on a tabletop "boom box"? Already had a great system in the front of the house. Oh, find one and buy it, ASAP! I am so happy with this purchase! The sound, the user-friendly features, the SOUND, the size, the iPod dock, THE ASTONISHING SOUND. I think I'm picky about sound quality, and this little item delivers.
Summary: I would highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a compact desktop audio system. Not only does it have great flexibility in terms of the types of media it will play (which include AM / FM radio, CD, USB thumb drives, iPods as well as an auxiliary input), its sound quality is more than adequate, given that its a desktop unit with small speakers. The bass in particularly is exemplary for such a small unit.
Summary: Enjoy the sound output in my home office, and it is simple to set up and operate. It takes little space and yet blends well with my decor. It doesn't offer a multiple CD changer, but that is no problem for me. Recommend it to others as a less expensive alternative to BOSE.
Yamaha TSX-140 Desktop Audio System with iPod Dock (Brick)

Summary: I purchased a clock radio with AM/FM, but when I brought it home and played the radio, I was stunned at how awful it sounded . . . the music is so raucous these days, and so many ads even on the FM channels. I decided that I would be much happier with a clock radio that played CDs so I began my search reading the reviews at Amazon and elsewhere which were great re this model. I purchased it and WOW the sound is almost equal to my system in the living room.
Summary: A really terrific unit. Plays CDs, iPod, USB, you name it. We have an old iPhone we use to stream Pandora on it. If you close your eyes you think it is a much larger system. Everyone should get one.
Summary: When I got my first Ipod a few years ago I spent a lot of time looking for a decent speaker system for it, one that would also allow me to listen to FM radio and play CDs, as well as look decent in my livingroom. All I could find was plastic junk with poor sound that either lacked a CD player or radio or both. And then I found this puppy. Well-made, solid, excellent sound, classy-looking (I have the gray.) It has a remote so I can use it from the kitchen.
