Summary: lasted less than three years. not a great record for a radio considering that radios from the 1920's exist n perfect working condition. In this case it is the CD player that messed up. I would guess that i have opened and closed the cd drawer 100 times since the sterio arrived. One day it would not open and now every time that i start the unit it spends 3 to 5 minutes trying to open up and when i shut it doen same thing.
Summary: I was looking for a small, unobtrusive audio system for my master bedroom, and this fits the bill perfectly. It's compact, the white color looks nice with our color scheme, and it has surprisingly good sound. I've had the unit for about a year and a half, and I'm completely satisfied.
Summary: I like to research stuff, and knew or at least thought I knew what I wanted. Having recently purchased a Yamaha MCR-040 (Orange, yeah!) for my daughter, I was familiar with the sound quality -- which is excellent on the 130. This was tops on my list. I read the reviews and the limited / misleading pump print by the manufacturer. Second on my list was an alarm that would let me and my mate sleep in on non-esential weekends.
Summary: I have yet to be disappointed by a Yamaha product even though I purchased the only two I've ever owned 25 years apart. The Yamaha TSX-130 is an excellent audio system. The sound quality is nothing short of outstanding for a desktop audio system. I tested the Bose product and found the sound quality to considerably less stellar than the TSX-130. This is a sharp looking audio system that will look good anywhere in your home.
Summary: I love high fidelity sounds from the music I listen too. I know not to expect sounds like that from a table radio, but at $400.00 for a Yamaha product, I did expect more quality sounds from the TSX-130. Don't get me wrong, the sounds from the TSX-130 is good, just not great. I love Yamaha products, but I do find the Boston Recepter or Boston Solo sound just as good for a third of the price.
Summary: The Yamaha TSx-130 is a nice looking, relatively small, stereo system, Sound is very good, the cd player is flawless and can display available information such as artist or song title depending on the source cd, and music can be played using a simple flash drive attached to the usb connection or an mp3 player can also be attached via usb.
Summary: Yes, it has decent sound. But... When you silence alarm in the morning, it stays off. You have to remember to set alarm before going to bed, otherwise it won't go off. This is a major problem. My cheap 25 dollar Sony radio that I replaced had dual alarm with weekend mode that simply worked every morning. If someone knows a button/setting that I need to enable to get it to ring every morning, please let me know.
Summary: I recieved my Yamaha TSX-130 in white today. I have yet to use the alarm function on it but I have setup and played the unit. This is the ideal unit for your bedroom since it has an alarm as well as radio/cd/mp3/ipod. I purchased it for my nightstand. I have to say that I am very pleased with this item. The unit is very stylish, has good quality sound and multiple component functions. The unit has component function buttons on the top for easy access.
