Summary: I'll let other reviewers expurge the lesser details of this system. What I will say, however, is that this is one of the best stereos around... and Yamaha speakers can't be beat. Shame it's unavailable now, but Yamaha has a knack for keeping up with trends.
Summary: First, I need to say that the quality of the sound produced from this system is quite good for its price. If you are only looking for sound, you may like this machine. However, everything else is wrong with this product.
Summary: Yamaha MCR-E810SL DVD Mini System looked like a good bet. I listened to it at a local stereo store and was impressed by the sound. I should have played with the controls however & am now paying the price. My wife hates it because she does not understand how it works.
Summary: I'VE PUT THESE LITTLE SPEAKERS ON TOP OF MY OLD SPEAKER TOWERS AND YOU WOULD SWEAR THE SOUND IS COMING FROM THE BIG TOWERS. I CAN'T TURN THE VOLUME UP TO 50% WITHOUT GOING OUT IN THE YARD. IT'S INCREDIBLE.
Summary: This is a great small system! Very nice looks, superb sound (especialy when you add a sub-woofer), accepts a fair number of inputs (including ipod, with an optional adapter). The system can play LOUD with minimal distortion for its size (if that's important to you). No problems with CDs and DVDs.
Summary: -- The sound is superb. My jaws pretty much dropped when I first heard this, and I still find myself stunned sometimes (and I've had this system for several months at this point). -- DVDs look great. I have this hooked up to a 20" HDTV, via component cables and progressive scan output.
Summary: Like other Yamaha audio equipment we have bought, this system provides outstanding sound quality. The small form factor and elegant looking design made it a great choice for our living room. The speakers are small enough to be put on a bookshelf or placed on stands.
best micro system with sound that belies its status as such

Summary: One reviewer compared the quality of the speakers to NS-10s (studio caliber playback monitors). They're pretty close. I'm thoroughly happy with this system. Don't kid yourself, though, in that if your room is of decent size, you really do need to add a subwoofer.
Summary: Great sound for such a small system. We totally love the rich sound it gives and ability to add on to this unit with more speakers as well as an mp3 player. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a system that takes up little space for such wonderful sound. Good job, Yamaha!!!!
Summary: This is just a wonderful compact system. The key here is pretty much the excellent speakers Yamaha has been making for years. Their NS-10's have been a fixture in recording studios for mixing and these smaller speakers have the same clear, true and vibrant characteristics.
