Summary: I'll let other reviewers expurge the lesser details of this system. What I will say, however, is that this is one of the best stereos around... and Yamaha speakers can't be beat. Shame it's unavailable now, but Yamaha has a knack for keeping up with trends.
best micro system with sound that belies its status as such

Summary: One reviewer compared the quality of the speakers to NS-10s (studio caliber playback monitors). They're pretty close. I'm thoroughly happy with this system. Don't kid yourself, though, in that if your room is of decent size, you really do need to add a subwoofer.
Summary: First, I need to say that the quality of the sound produced from this system is quite good for its price. If you are only looking for sound, you may like this machine. However, everything else is wrong with this product.
Summary: Great sound for such a small system. We totally love the rich sound it gives and ability to add on to this unit with more speakers as well as an mp3 player. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a system that takes up little space for such wonderful sound. Good job, Yamaha!!!!
Summary: Yamaha MCR-E810SL DVD Mini System looked like a good bet. I listened to it at a local stereo store and was impressed by the sound. I should have played with the controls however & am now paying the price. My wife hates it because she does not understand how it works.
Summary: I had been in search of a system (or some kind of configuration) that would work for my application, which was playing high-fidelity music from my Mac, and wow, this IS IT. By the end of my search I had decided to go with a mini system, and after researching the Onkyo and Denon options, I decided to...
Summary: This is the first Yamaha mini-system I have owned and it is, by far, the best system that I have owned. I have previously had Sony and Aiwa mini systems and JVC component systems. In comparison to these, this Yamaha system has the best sound quality (wow!
Summary: ...believe it or not, my displays on the RX-E810 reciever and the DVD-E810 media player do not perfectly match. Though were are not talking about the difference between, for example, red and blue LCD displays; my RX-E810 reciever display is noticeably blue-hued, while the DVD-E810 media player is...
Summary: I simply can't find any other word to describe this system quality sound! Amazing job by Yamaha! Each time i play a CD, DVD, song from my Ipod or just music from my computer through this system i have to sit back and listen to the track like i have never heard it before.
Summary: I have been looking for a compact hi-fi system for some time now. I purchased and returned a number of them. I must say that I found it, this is it. Beautiful sound just what I am looking for. Thumbs up for Yamaha for developing such a superb system.
