Summary: Music fills a large living room, excellent clarity a little bassy at first but once its dialed down its great, dialing it down is done with the remote still looking to see if you can use the dial.
Summary: I have owned this stereo for 9 months now and I love it. We use it regularly, and it has room filling sound. It doesn't need to be turned up loud to have music fill the room, or even the next room in an open floor plan space. In a pinch, I have disconnected the speakers and connected large speakers from an old component stereo system to get house filling sound. It pushes the full size speakers with just as clear and clean sound and can handle a back yard party.
Summary: I purchased this about two and a half years ago to replace an 80's era boom box that sat by our dining room table for mealtime music. It has a very good sound, and an elegant aesthetic. Its nice that you can control the iPod using the remote. However, there are some design issues that make me regret the purchase: 1. The on-machine controls are totally inadequate: There is no way to advance tracks or control shuffle when playing CD's, or make audio adjustments etc.
Summary: I was looking something with above average sound quality but not spending a grand. This is it, you won't be disapointed. Would have perfered it in forest green but was 50$ cheaper in orange. My wife doesn't like the color and now I do. It sits in my kichten and I use it everyday. She watches tv and I listen to the radio and cds.
