Summary: Most of these sub-compact systems lack the rich bass but this small beauty hits it right on the head. Are you going to be thumping the neighbors with this? No. It's a small system for a sitting room or a kitchen for the enjoyment of tunes. You will not be disappointed!
Summary: Totally love it...worked great with iphone 4. Sometimes I get the error "this accessory is not supported". Trick is to put the iphone in the charger and turn on the power button of yamaha at the same time. Do it couple of times and it will recognize the device and plays music. Look of this device is just awesome.
Summary: I have gone through several sound systems for my iPod and have been disappointed by all of them. Until now! I bought the Yamaha MCR-40 (in orange) and I love it! The sound is great and I love that I can adjust the treble and bass -- something that is a lot harder to find that I thought it would be. I was a little surprised with the size of the unit (it's deeper than I thought) but that is my fault for not paying close attention to the specs.
Summary: Wife didn't like her b-day present, so time to make it right. Did not use the included speaker wire. Not long enough for having one speaker on the opposite night stand. What beautiful sound-stage! My wife was surprised with such excellent sound quality. I do wish Yamaha would program the ASIC for the clock to stay on permanently (not just a few secs). I don't care for alarm clocks -- that's what smart-phones are for.
Summary: Besides the pink color, the sound is awesome. This isn't a ghetto blaster/boom box ... the speakers separate, which improves an already outstanding, quality sound, and it feels like a sold, quality product.
