Summary: NOT suited to desktop! It's Way too deep! Really too bad too... they just need to ditch the CD player in it, and put in a SD card slot instead.. Make it so it actually fits on a desktop! Geesh! a real clunker.
Summary: This was a piece of junk. I mean the speaker has a great sound for my room, however, I can't even use the darn thing unless I use the remote. I can't use the CD player which is the main reason I bought it! None of the buttons on the actual device work i can only use the ipod and radio only using the remote. And then they charged An arm and a leg for this! Highly disappointed. I am really upset and I don't have time and extra money to ship it back and forth. Never again.
Summary: I purchased this system for my daughter who listens to her music via cds and iPod. Bought it as a Christmas gift in 2012 and now the docking station does not work. You have to tilt the iPod (nano) forward with your hand to get the system to recognize that it is connected. It didn't always work this way. Too bad, it was a really nice looking system and the sound was great.
Bluetooth iPod Dock UNFUNCTIONAL. CUSTOMER SERVICE NO HELP

Summary: I really wanted to love this product. It appeals to me visually, size-wise and performance wise. Unfortunately the iPod dock never worked at all. I had called the Yamaha service center and was sent in a black hole of Customer Support emails, reference numbers, serial numbers and various codes all to send me to a NYC based local service center that was out of business.
Summary: Unfortunately the remote stopped working on the second day. You can not change stations or tweak settings without it. Bad design decision. I am returning the unit for a full refund. It is a bad design decision to put major functionality solely on the remote. Once the remote is lost or damaged the unit is basically functionless. Unless you listen to only a single radio station.
Summary: Yamaha must have added the USB port for show. I've tried quite a few different USB > micro with my Galaxy Nexus, and it errors out with "USB Unknown" or "USB Disconnected". It's not a complicated connection technology, so it's extremely frustrating that Yamaha botched this. Also, It's time to stop ignoring Android OS, it has 39% of the mobile OS market (yes, more than iOS (28%)). Again, it's a shame, because this system has excellent sound for a micro Component system.
Summary: I had great expectations - in spite of some of the reviews that warned me of the problems I experienced. It played none of my downloaded music and about 10% of the previously recorded music I tried to play. It would start and stop, continuously. The remote control also stopped working after I first used it. The operating instructions were useless. Funny that I encountered none of these problems on my bose using the same cds.
