Summary: I bought this based largely on the gleaming reviews so thought I should write a realistic review. The good: It looks great and the build quality is great The bad: I read this and thought it sounded petty but the remote really is poor, i got a better one with a £3 ipod dock! It's also annoying that you have to point it so directly for it to work, even with new batteries.
Summary: Positives : Great sound & looks Negatives : I found it difficult to set up esp as the instructions provided are spartan. You have to go online for the more detailed, useable version. The remote only seems to work sporadically and now the LED display has now gone down ( 10 months old ) so overall, I do not consider value for money.
Summary: I bought this system 2 years ago - it was excellent for a while - then suddenly the iphone socket failed and I had to get an Aux input to play music from an iphone. Then a few months later any and every CD has jumps in it - aweful - even brand new CDs. I take the CDs to my car and on friends' systems and they play perfectly. I'm moving to Bose now as I can't trust this company to provide a long term music player from multiple sources. Very, very disappointing.
Summary: This is an amazing little machine. The sound is fantastic, very clear and great bass. I have it in my kitchen/dining room which is 8 meters long 4 wide and this thing fills the room with its great sound. It's worth splashing out the extra cash on this as it blows the lower priced units out of the game. It charges my iphone 4s, however it does need to be in airplane mode as you get interference otherwise.
Lots of interference when playing with 3D & Loudness
10 October 2012
Summary: For the money I think you can do better than this. It's fine as is, but as other reviewers have said suffers from interference from iPhone radio signals and I get lots of interference when listening with 3D sound and loudness "on" with the DAB radio, but not with iPod. Frankly for the price I don't think this is an acceptable compromise, but the sound quality is excellent when played without these issues.
Summary: I've been researching DAB radios with ipod docks for a while and it came down to a choice between the Pure Contour and the Vita R2i. I chose the R2i and oh my god, I'm glad I did ! The sound is superb ! Rich bass, nicely seperated mid and high tones - increadible from such a small package. You can really crank up the volume ! I mean it fills the entire room with great sound. The LCD display is really bright and clear and the remote makes it easy to use.
Summary: This is beautiful-looking, quality hi-fi system which sounds as good as the price suggests. All my music is on an iPod, so I don't need a CD player. Minor criticisms are that the controls for changing source are a bit fiddly and that the front display doesn't show the iPod track info, only that an iPod is connected. Oddly, the controls are actually not as intuitive as the R2i's little brother, the Vita Audio R1 (MkI) , which I also own (and which is equally good).
