Not good over largeish distance or through walls!!!!

Summary: I've finally given up and returned this after two months of trying. We have a largeish bungalow and wanted to run the main unit (server) at one end (living room) with the slave wireless unit at the other end in our bedroom. With the supplied router balanced in a doorway between the two it could just about make it through a few tracks - but once it loses signal it just stops. Yes, we have walls, made of brick!
Summary: For the amount of money this system cost, you would think it would read DVDs, but it only reads CDs. Given that it won't recognise my laptop, memory stick or removable hard drive, I'm not about to burn 17GB of music onto CDs. (I've already spent two days converting all my files into MP3s for it.) For the amount of money this system costs, I expect to be able to plug, play and import with a simple usb cable.
