Summary: I've had these for a little over two years, and they are still great. I use them almost everyday. The highs and mids are awesome. The bass is very powerful, more than you would imagine from this system. I've never turned this system all the way up either, 15 out of 30 volume is more than enough. It is nice that there is a subwoofer button to turn off the bass if needed. I love my system and can't recommend it enough.
Summary: This is an Amazing system, I looked everywhere for it and I only found it on amazon. When i ordered it it came in TWO DAYS. I am completetly satisfied by this product. It has amazing sound, and blows away systems that are much more expensive. The bass kicks hard and the sound quality is great. I'm 16 years old so you know I like my music loud, and this system delivers.
Summary: This stereo is great. The sound is clear, and crisp at various loudness levels and option for more precise listening (rock, classical, etc). It is nice that it also charges the IPOD, as well as plays it. Of note, the remote control allows you the ability to fall asleep or wake up to music. Prior to buying this one, I looked at the RCA compact stereo system which is about $40 cheaper.
Sony MHCEC98Pi mini Hi - Fi Shelf System... The Truth
Kelly Pitts ".:Blackwolf:. ... =^o^=", Amazon
7 October 2009
Summary: I've owned one other Sony mini hi-fi shelf system in the past that was 360 watts RMS; 120 watts continuous RMS for both right AND left channel and 120 watts continuous RMS to the subwoofer, and quite frankly, it blows the Sony MHCEC98Pi mini Hi - Fi Shelf System out of the water. The specs on the Sony MHCEC98Pi stated that the watts were 190 continuous RMS for both right and left channel - this was not true. Actual wattage is 95 watts continuous RMS per channel.
Summary: Some folks seem happy with this system, but I am not. I purchased this system to replace an old Aiwa system that developed a bum CD-changer. Usually I have pretty good luck with Sony products but I was instantly disappointed. 1) The system is loud, but the sound quality is mediocre. The speakers are clearly very cheap and the (hard-wired) speaker wire is as thin as can be.
Summary: I bought this System because I had seen it at a store and loved the volume and sound it gave. Of course Amazon had it $20.00 cheaper, I did not have to pay 8.75% tax on it and it was free shipping. We put the system in our garage and when we have parties at our house, you can hear the music from the street. Great system for the price.
Summary: I bought this stereo system because I wanted something affordable, yet sounds good. That is what I got with the Sony MCHEC98Pi. I would strongly reccommend this prodect over the Sony stereo system with no subwoffer. The subwoffer really extends the quality of your music. It has all the functions I wanted. - ipod dock - CD player - AM/FM radio - Audio in If it had a tape player or USB recording drive it would be perfect, but that is asking a lot.
Summary: I bought this system about 3 1/2 months ago from B&H Photo because Amazon had it on back order. I played $180 for it with free shipping. I have had practically no problem with the system and I love the sound that it produces. The only problem that I have had with the system so far has been a raspy sound that sounded like the speakers had been overpowered and were dying.
Summary: These speakers have an absoulutly amazing sound! Turn them up to max, and they'll practiclly have the walls shaking! The sub woofer sounds great too. This stereo is ideal to all music, Hip-Hop, Rock, you name it. Overall greatest speakers on the market.
