Summary: First the good: The speakers sound great for a moderately priced speaker system. I have this hooked up to my Gaming PC and welcome the immersion these bring. They're also loud enough to get me in trouble with my downstairs neighbors at the 10/30 setting if the sub is turned on, and I have not been able to tolerate anything over 20 if that gives some indication of how loud these get.
Summary: Nice sound for the price. Bought it for my garage so the lack of length in the speaker wires is not a problem which some people have stated. like the fact that I can play the Ipod or hook up my laptop. No complaints.
Summary: This stereo does not have a coax hook up for the FM antenna. This is disappointing, because it does not com with a very good antenna system, or hook up jack. The speaker connections on the back of this stereo are only made with their own hook up connecters ,or plugs. There is no wire inserts for the bare speaker wires from another speaker wire to plug into. This stereo is a good starter stereo to grow up with, and then upgrade as one gets more into the music.
Summary: I just bought this system after looking at it for some time, and I am quite pleased with it as a whole system. The different functions are very useful: the ipod dock works well, the remote has good range, and the antenna gets very good reception. The only problems that I had with the system are that it is larger than anticipated (my fault for not checking ahead of time) and the bass can be overwhelming at times. The bass can only be on or off, no in between.
Summary: I wanted to like this system badly. It fit the space, and it had most of the features I wanted. Sadly, the sound quality is so disappointing I put it on Craigslist. Powerful bass. If that's what you want, you've found your system. Midtones (over half the output), are just lost. The sound is clipped, muddy, incomplete and just plain lousy. There are very limited controls to shape the sound -- so limited, I don't know why Sony bothered.
Summary: The first thing I noticed after firing this system up for the first time was the overall clarity and “fullness” of the sound it produced; the highs are crisp, the mid-range is more than adequate, and the bass is full and rich thanks to the dedicated external subwoofer. Although I don’t consider myself to be a serious audiophile, I do expect better than average sound quality, and this system performs well up to my expectations.
Not the greatest, but it doesn't suck either (3.5 Stars)

Summary: I bought this for my kids room, so the demands and expectations I have are not exceedingly high. I'm sure if my kids were reviewing it; it would get the 5 stars. They LOVE it. With stereos, the quality is rudimentarily measured by product weight, ie the plastic to wood/metal ratio + plus magnet size. Overall, it's a very lightweight system. Even the subwoofer is very light for it's size.
