Summary: I really liked this little powerhouse until the unit quit working. I took the unit for repair and after replacing a couple of transistors, it is working again. The repair technician said this is a "true" Sony unit, which he said was surprising. He was able to download the schematic and work on it.
Summary: After a few years, it just gave up. The CD doesn't open, the unit turns on for fifteen seconds and then shuts down. Now it is just another shoddily built piece of consumer electronics for the recycling pile.
Summary: WE bought model # MHC-EC77 just over a year ago. It has always been noisy when reading/changing CDs,but we were ok with that. Sound was acceptable. What ISN'T acceptable is the fact that in just a year, it has stopped working altogether. The radio works,that's it.
