Summary: Another mini system with identical features is Yamaha MCR-B142. I listened to them side-by-side, toggling back and forth while playing the same radio station. The Yamaha sounds vastly better to me. This Sony sounds like it's underwater across the entire spectrum and its bass is mushy and boomy. The Yamaha sounds brighter and clearer across the spectrum. Its bass is tight and defined.
Excerpt: Good sound system for that price range. Something like this could be easily more expensive. Bluetooth works great, very basic EQ options. Only thing that bothers me is the time it takes to load a CD...veeery slow! Still very happy with it!
Summary: The Sony CMTSBT100 is perfect for me. I am a bit up in years now and have an extensive collection of CDs (classical, easy listening, and choirs). While I have had large systems in the past, I have retired to a condo and have a reduced interest in gadgetry. These days, I simply want to hear music without worrying about a lot of technical jargon and sonority minutiae. I'm a classical musician, not an audio tech.
Summary: I've had this unit in my apartment for a couple of months now and have been very pleased! I primarily use it to play vinyls from an Audio-Technica turntable as well as bluetooth audio from my Nexus 7. It works great for both! The size is perfect and it sounds great for such a small package! I even like the light on the bottom that blinks when you change the volume... As cheesy as that sounds. My only caveat with the unit is the inputs.
Summary: I have looked into a lot of different systems for my backyard. Most systems cost a lot of money and require a lot of work to set up. I live in a regular neighborhood with a 10,000 sq ft lot and wanted a Bluetooth system for around my pool. This system so far is amazing, the sound feels the entire yard and from approximately 50ft i can control my iphone from the pool.
Summary: Can't believe the amount of quality sound that comes out of this small stereo! I purchased this model because it has a jack for headphones. I use wireless headphones, but I still need a headphone jack for the transmitter. Very pleased.
Summary: Great sound and perfect size for a smaller area. I was surprised at how good the bass was considering the smaller speakers. It connected to my iphone with no issues and plays my CD's great. I recommend this micro system.
Excerpt: The only disappointment I have with this unit is that it doesn't work with USB devices other than USB thumb drives. My Zune does not have Bluetooth and the Stereo will not work it via USB or other music devices. It does work fine with USB Thumb drives. Go figure.
Pros: Easy Controls, Good Sound Quality, Lightweight
Summary: This system has pretty good sound and looks very nice. One thing that I would consider a con is the amount of time the system requires to start playing a CD when changing from FM. It will flash Reading on the screen for about 10 seconds before playing. This is minor but I haven't had anything do that before. All in all I'm very satisfied with the system and would recommend it to a friend.
