Summary: I bought this so that I may listen to one of the many books on CD from the library while I work in my pottery/and painting studios. The CD playerand IPOD work great. Sound not the quality that I am used to but for books, works great.
Summary: I looked up the model to check before I ordered it and had found that it was but when it arrived, the iPod dock connector was about 1/2 inch long and my new 5th gen touch has a MUCH smaller connector on it (and yes, I looked over the entire iPod to make sure I wasn't missing something).
Summary: Bought one a few weeks ago in spite of some reviews that were less than I expect from Sony. I am glad I did...Sony quality comes through again in a unit that costs less than $100. First one went in the motorhome and it took one trip to decide that I wanted one in my basement rec room.

Summary: ...as long as you manage your expectations in a couple of areas, the Sony CMT-LX20i will provide decent sound in a small room environments. I purchased this to replace an 18-year old shelf system that was showing its age (still had a cassette player, and no direct input capability for an iPod).
Summary: Three and a half stars. The sound is as good as one could expect for its size and price. Easy to use right out of the box and it looks pretty sharp. Yes the sound is not perfectly crisp but I'll sacrifice that somewhat for the small footprint. I did have trouble with the a.m.
Summary: The Sony Shelf System plays like a stereo system but is compact and a lot less expensive. I just wish the stand for the iTouch/iPhone was sturdier and held your iTouch/iPhone steady in the stand.
Summary: I like to listen to audiobooks (CDs) from the library and needed a cd player for that, plus I still buy cds and like to listen to old ones and don't want to go through the process of ripping them to my computer and then putting them on my ipod just to here a few songs that I have a fleeting interest...
