OK sound with shoddy construction and malfunctioning remote

Tom McQ, Amazon
10 October 2010
  • Summary: I was hoping this stereo would be a convenient, portable music player we could move into whatever room it was needed. And it was a Sony. I own other Sony stereo components (FM receiver, CD player) and have been happy with them.

Okay value for features but sound quality too bassy

Jim, Amazon
16 May 2010
  • Summary: For my kitchen, I was looking for a good radio/CD combo with an iPod docking station. I figured the Sony CMT-LX20i would be a solid choice, given the Sony name, the price (~$110), and the fairly good reviews it received. After some use, I've become unhappy with my choice.

Returned after a week

knomies, Amazon
29 June 2009
  • Summary: I read up on the reviews for this item and decided to trust the higher ratings and give it a try. I ended up buying at Target as I knew returning would be much more easy. Set up was simple enough, ease of use, but the quality is pretty poor.

OK Sound, Not For The Discriminating.

Emmanuel V. Gutierrez, Amazon
29 June 2009
  • Summary: First of all, it looks good. Not a Bang & Olufsen but not bad for a Sony product. This is what attracted me to this unit in the first place. Now the nitty gritty. It was essentially plug and play. Easy set up. Now I am ready to fire up my fully charged iPod.

Very good sound but this unit failed quickly

Phil, Amazon
29 June 2009
  • Summary: Shopped around online and bought this product sight unseen because of Sony's reputation. Upon receiving it the installation was easy and sound was very good, better than expected. However, it is now 90 days and the device has failed. Nothing but a loud hum from the left channel.

if you don't care about quality, it's ok

johnnie, Amazon
29 June 2009
  • Summary: I was looking for a small unit that had both an ipod dock, and CD player for my bathroom, that didn't push too far into the budget. I wish I would've pushed a little further. The plastic on this unit looks and feels cheaper than the $25 dollar Jensen it replaced.

Cds sound fine but my Walkman (AUDIO IN) sounds terrible

N. Petersen, Amazon
29 June 2009
  • Summary: I do not own an IPOD but wanted a unit that would play the music on my Sony Walkman. I chose this one because it was a Sony and their reputation for sound quality is usually reliable. When I played a cd, it sounded fine and I liked the unit.

Sounds thin and weak.

Stagger Lee, Amazon
29 June 2009
  • Summary: I took a chance with this and lost. It's just cheaply designed. Sounds very thin. No bass, no adjustable EQ, just some presets that are irrelevant.
