The CMT-BX5BT desktop micro system from Sony features a single-disc capacity CD player, AM/FM tuner and wireless Bluetooth connectivity. The system, which comes in an elegant black finish, is composed of a main unit and two bookshelf speakers. The main unit measures 7.9 x 5.1 x 11.6 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 7.7 pounds while each of the speakers measures 5.5 x 9.7 x 8.3 inches (W x H x D) with a weight of 4.2 pounds. Also included in the package is a wireless Remote Commander remote control plus 2 AA batteries.

The Sony CMT-BX5BT has a tray-loading CD player that can read standard audio CDs as well as CD-R, CD-RW and MP3-CD discs.

With a Bluetooth-enabled device such as a personal computer, mobile phone or a portable media player, the CMT-BX5BT can wirelessly play MP3 files stored on these devices. For MP3 players without Bluetooth connectivity, users can opt to connect the device via a 3.5 mm audio-in port or purchase Sony’s optional Bluetooth adapter.

The system’s AM/FM tuner has 30 slots for preset radio stations (10 for AM stations and 20 for FM) and also features auto digital tuning.

The CMT-BX5BT’s speakers each utilize a 1.6 inch tweeter and a 5.9 inch woofer. The enclosures feature a bass reflex design with a “tuned” port that improves bass response. The system has a total power output of 30 watts (15 watts per channel x 2) RMS.
