Excerpt: You have your living room all decked out with the latest in stereo fashions to blow your ears out, but what about your bedroom or den? Don’t they need something too? Sony brings you the answer. The Sony CMT-BX1 Micro Hi-Fi Component System may be just what you need for that extra room. It’s the perfect stereo for my bedroom. I have my components all ready to go in the living room, but needed some music in my private space.
Summary: Got this for my garage and it has held up ver well. Everything on it still works, CD, FM, AM, remote. The only complaint I think I have is that if you are playing a CD and switch to the radio, if you switch back to the CD, it starts from the beginning of the disk. Not from the point you were at. Other than that, the thing rocks. Recommended.
Summary: Purchased this unit for my mother-in-law who got exactly two years of relatively light use before the CD player started stuttering and finally stopped working. Based on the experience of the other one-star reviewers, I guess she should feel lucky. Very disappointed in Sony quality and durability of components.
Summary: Kelly was wonderful. I had several opportunities to interact with the seller prior to and during the purchase. Very conscientious! The product was as described and the care and service provided was superb. I would recommend purchasing from SellerKelly anytime. Excellent job. Prompt delivery, excellent condition, superb service.
Summary: The system performw well. There remains a problem with the shipment. It was incomplete and it has been necessary to file a protest with the credit card company. Amazon needs to make certain that their suppliers for used equipment send all of the components. They need to supply a check list to make certain they do not have a complaint about the completness of the shipment.
Summary: I bought this little system to give to a donut shop where I play cards a couple times a week. I have made up a few MP3 disks for the shop and they play the unit everyday for many hours. The sound is very good and fills the shop without a problem. Many people have commented on how good the quality of the sound coming from such a small unit is. The unit has been in place for over 8 months and in daily use for as much as 10 hours a day.
Summary: I bought this Sony system in August of 2008. It has now broken (10/09). The disc 'drawer' says it doesn't have a disc in it when it does. I am beyond the one year warranty period, so shipping this off for repair is not worth the price. I realize this was an inexpensive ($99 when I bought it) system, but I expected it to last for much longer than a year.
Summary: For a small stereo, this unit delivers superior sound although the speakers included with the unit tend to strain at higher volumes. I connected my larger speakers to the unit (not recommended) and the highs and lows are far more enhanced at more volume. The cd and mp3 playback is excellent. The radio reception is ok considering that Im located 50 miles from the nearest fm stations. the mono has little effect on boosting the signal.
Summary: Sounded fine, but after about 2 mos. or so (after point when it could be returned to Amazon!), stopped powering up. Called support, and after half hour on line got return number. Had to spend $25 to ship it to Texas and now waiting for word. I think Sony should pay shipping when their product konks out so early. Beware of this item. Forsyte.
