The Philips MCM309R/37 is a micro shelf system that features a 4-disc CD changer, iPod and Philips GoGear connectivity (via an optional dock) in an elegant flat design. The system is composed of the main unit, two speakers and a subwoofer. The main unit measures approximately 17.7 x 13.2 x 4.5 inches (W x H x D); each of the speakers measure 6.7 x 11.7 x 3.5 inches (W x H x D); and the subwoofer comes in at 8.7 x 13.8 x 14.1 inches (W x H x D).

The MCM309R/37, which has a stylish black and silver color scheme, can also be mounted on a wall using the included mounting brackets. A full-featured remote control is also included in the standard package. A docking cradle (which also has charging capabilities) for an iPod or GoGear music player can be purchased separately.

The MCM309R/37 features a front-loading, motorized CD player that can load up to 4 discs. It can read standard audio CDs, CD-R/RW as well as MP3 and WMA CDs. The front of the main unit sports a USB port for connecting other portable media players.

The system has a total power output of 100 watts (20 watts for each speaker and 60 watts fro the subwoofer). Sound enhancement technologies included are Digital Sound Control equalizer with 4 presets; Dynamic Bass Boost (which amplifies low frequencies at all volume levels); and Incredible Surround to enhance the speaker’s stereo effect.
