Summary: This shelf stereo is attractive and compact, but it has great sound. It's apparently durable, too, as my husband had headphones plugged into it and inadvertently pulled the unit off the shelf and onto the floor. While I wouldn't recommend throwing it on the floor just for fun, it seemed to survive the fall just fine.
Summary: Very stylish and well made. Good sound. Would certainly recommend. If you plug your iPod or iPhone (model 4s or earlier) for music, it charges the phone while it is plugged in. One quibble, you can't select radio stations at will. The SC-HC37 automatically programs stations and assigns them program numbers. In order to listen to a station you must scroll through the list until you hear the station.
Summary: The iphone connection worked perfectly for the first two weeks I owned it. Since then, after inserting the iphone into the system dock, the phone no longer connects with the devise unless I wiggle the it while it's in the dock. The fidelity is very good and the CD player works well. Normal radio reception.
Summary: UPDATE -- 12-26-2012 YOU CAN PURCHASE THIS ITEM, THROUGH AMAZON WITH FREE SHIPPING FOR $74.99 !!! It is out of stock at the moment, but can be ordered through the "new & used" option. To see the price you need to put it in your shopping cart. The price might be worth the delay. (Original Review) This is a very good sounding little unit which is a bit of a surprise from such a small system. It's very stylish and contemporary and perfect for a smaller room or office.
Summary: I realized, after buying this unit, that I should have done more research, and that electronics are not all as compatible as I had hoped and assumed. This unit has no aux-in and only has an Ipod dock, so I can't use my non-apple mp3 player. I tried getting an input adapter hoping I could use that to hook up my mp3 player to the ipod dock, but after many minutes of 'checking connection' I get the message 'not supported', though it would charge.
Summary: Having owned a very similar Panasonic SC-HC40, I recommended my mother look into this line when she was looking for a new book shelf speaker. I was very disappointed to see how many features have been stripped from all of their new models, top to bottom. No more blue tooth, no USB port, no AM tuner and they've never had an analog audio port. How are you supposed to play anything outside of a CD or iPod?
Summary: We are very happy with this audio system. We wanted - and got - a simple, multi-dimensional system allowing us to use FM radio and play CDs. The sound is impressive for a system of this size and at this price.
Summary: Easy to use! Fabulous sound quality. A great choice for a small-to-medium sized room such as a bedroom. Design is unobtrusive and space-saving. We don't need all that Bluetooth, ipad, ipod, iphone, ipatch stuff.
Summary: Amazon was the seller. This stereo sounds and looks great. It provides sound for my living room, dining room, kitchen, and hallway (open floor plan). I have hardwood floors and high ceilings; the sound carries very well. I was looking for something small to place on a rectangular table that sits against a wall in my living room, and this works perfectly for me. The dimensions (WxHxD) are 19 inches by 7-3/4 inches by 3-1/2 inches. Power consumption is 23 watts.
Summary: EDIT: I've now had this system for 6 months, I use it fairly regularly and have not had any problems with it. I'll preface this buy saying that I've only had this system for 1 day. With that being said I'm loving the sound quality and volume that I am able to get from this fairly compact system. It is perfect for our little apartment. The bass is a little weak but it is better than I expect for a system with no sub-woofer and is adequate for most music.
